Hi bees,
Of course, I thought I knew what I wanted, and then I was thrown a curveball… all my BMs so far love #3 the best and I got teary eyed… but it’s not at all what I was envisioning (typical), so I’m having a hard time mentally – silly, but because I don’t like being considered a Princess, or anything like that. But when I put that on, I just felt so romantic. My Fiance is also expecting a mermaid (although he does like this style too!), but I just always told him no ballgown… my other concern is because it’s such a large ballgown, I feel like I’m trying to hide something, but I’m a street size 10… please provide your input 🙂
Edit: if it helps, our theme is dark romance/halloween… but not too gothic 🙂 Church ceremony, reception at golf and country club. Colours are eggplant, with hints of black, white, and bordeaux.

I love dress #3 on you! I am currently looking for my dress and I am stuck between a fit and flare and a ball gown shape as well. I actually last tried on your dress number 2 and I think that is the one I might go with! But I was also between the Allure 2607 which is really simaliar to your dress #3! Good luck both styles look great 🙂

@kristen182: I voted for #4 because it does the best for your body but if those dresses arent what you feel the best and most beautiful in, keep looking!

@kristen182: I think you look lovely in 3 but I like 4 on you much better so it gets my vote!

I voted for dress #4. I think it’s the most flattering and slimming silhouette on you. To be honest, I think dress #3 is the least flattering on your figure and makes you look heavier than you are :/

Honestly none of them WOW me, but #4 is definitely the most flattering and gets my vote! I don’t like the ballgown on you :/

@Cory_loves_this_girl: Thanks! That’s really one of my biggest concerns with it looking at it after… I love it, but yeah, I don’t fill out much underneath it… lol

#4, granted I am not much for ballgowns, but I totally agree that sometimes my first thought when I see someone in them is that they don’t like their body and are covering it up (I know not always the case.) I am a size 12 and wore a mermaid dress, personally I think it looks better on ladies w/ a bot more meat, more va-va-voom.

I’m curious with the results so far – #1 was my other top favourite, but I see I’m alone in that! lol. Why is it not the best choice for me? I thought it was very flattering…
(my concern with #4 is it’s TOO shiny)

I personally like 2 best, but voted for 3 because of how you said it made you feel!

@kristen182: #4 is my favorite out of the dresses here, but I don’t think you are done shopping! You will find a dress that you love everything about as soon as your put it on with no hesistation! Don’t settle!

@kristen182: #4 is my favourite on you BUT I will tell you the same thing I say in all these polls – I’m willing to bet that this poll makes you defensive about a specific dress, that’s the dress you should pick! (my dress poll, everyone hates my dress and loves the one I like the least, but it confirmed my feelings about MY dress).

i think they are all beautiful dresses, but 4 makes you look gorgeous, sleek and very “”Old Hollywood”. It doesn’t seem overly shiny to me…just satiny & luxurious. After that I would choose 2,3,1, in that order. The side shot in dress #1 makes you look bigger than you are, but maybe that’s just the way you were standing. I also feel that #1 — while gorgeous — is a style I’ve seen over and over again in the past year. #2 is my second favorite, but it’s a little plain. Can you try it on again with some sort of sparkle – maybe a belt or a statement necklace — then repost that photo?

@kristen182: Please please please don’t take this the wrong way! But I would say 4 instead of 1 because 1 is not all that flattering in the way it hits your body.
This is coming from a much much bigger girl, but I just wanna be honest…
Also, the natural waist ballgown does nothing for you, youre right. Perhaps even try a drop waist? Not as drastic as a mermaid, not as “hiding” as the natural waist!

I like #4 the best but agree it’s too shiny. See if you can find one that’s similar but not so satiny.
#1 is definitely flattering – I just don’t love all the ruffles. But if you do, that’s what matters!
