(Closed) Please Help Me Pick the Most Classic, TIMELESS, Elegant Dress of these two!

  • poll: Which dress is more TIMELESS/Elegant?

First Dress, No Embellishments at Neckline, Lots of Ruching and Brooch at Front Hip

Second Dress, Beaded/Crystals at Neckline, Embellishments at Side/Hip

In terms of Timelessness/Elegance, Both are about the SAME!!!

there are basically the same dress with different embelishments, i’m not a big fan of crystals so am more in favor of the first one with the brooch

I like the first one better… but in terms of classic and timeless, neither really screams it. As a couple PPs said, the sweetheart, strapless, ruching, brooches…. all of it is really modern and trendy.

The first dress is so elegant, I think it’s a wonderful pick!

dresses are never timeless… eventually they will all be dated and out of style. But the first one is beautiful IMO =)

I see both of these as pretty trendy, actually. To me, a true classic, timeless dress would be a ballgown, because no matter what other silhouette trends might be at a particular time, you willl always be able to find a good number of ballgowns.

    These are:

Fitted through the hips and upper thighs

    Strapless

    Sweetheart

Rouched (I think that’s what you call it when the fabric is draped across the waist

All of those things are quite trendy. Which is fine, you’ll look very of-the-moment in either of those. But when I think of timeless, I think of something like this:

I feel that the Maggie is more timeless and with the neckline having no embellishments, it will go with the thick necklace better.  They are both beautiful dresses though Laughing

@EffieTrinket I thought the same thing. I wasn’t expecting either of those dresses based on the thread title. To me, Classic/timeless/elegance is Jackie O and Grace Kelly.

Another kind of “classic and timeless” is another Kennedy wedding style… and this would work for a beach wedding. Carolyn Bessette.

I think the first option you posted will hold it’s place “longer” in time however.

I do like the first dress a bit more than the second one.

Um, when you look at the pictures the silver embellishment shows up first, then the other one. But when you look at the attachments it’s the opposite. So when people’s say first or second, I have no idea which ones they like better. My vote is the bestbridalprices.com one as it looks less trendy and more timeless

This might be a mental thing, but I automatically liked the first one because because it was the first one I saw.  When I looked at them longer, I liked the second one better, but was still drawn to the first.  As a way to mentally trick myself, I looked at the second one first, and then then the first one – and decided I liked the second one best overall.  Just thought I’d share in case this tripped anyone else up.  Long story short – I vote for the second one!  I think the deep sweetheart neckline and crystal embellishments are absolutely gorgeous.

I think both dresses are very modern and trendy. The rouching, beading, and brooch are all “in” right now and will be “out” in five years. I happen to think my dress fits your description, but I may be biased 🙂
