None of the tests here are positive, although I agree that the two on the right look like they might be heading that way – but also maybe not. Some people get darkish lines that go pale again before the true positive arrives, while others have lines that gradually darken over a few days before turning positive.

To be positive, the test line needs to be as dark as the control or darker. I think for most people, the test line actually gets a bit darker than the control when it’s truly positive.

What cycle day are you on? And what kind of “charting” are you doing?

No problem! If you’re just inputting your period dates into that app, it’s just guestimating your ovulation date based on “averages” – it’s not a reliable predictor. Could be way off. So it’s really good that you’re using OPKs. Feel free to join the January or February POAS (aka “peeing on a stick”) threads if you want more support through this process!

tiredandillwife :  what Tiffany said. Also, if you look under the TTC boards, there’s another very recent thread about ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) with lots of good info.

Here are some of my recent ones that I save using the app “Premom”. Only the ones that are orange and yellow are positive – where the left line is darker than the right line.

I recently downloaded an app called ‘flo’. You track your periods in it and it documents when you’re going to ovulate and states when your best chances of getting pregnant are. I realise I’m not answering your post specifically but it might be something worth trying if you’re focusing on conceiving.

tiredandillwife :  sometimes people can have more than one lh surge but you only ovulate once- for some reason the body has geared up to ovulate but then hasn’t. Perhaps this is the case with you? You’d only know by temping but keep using opk sticks and you might find another surge next week? Worth a shot and don’t stop bd-ing!
