I think they are very pretty.  The only thing that I do not particularly like is the font you have selected.  I am finding especially the Js and Ds to be very distracting.  However, I know that, in real life, you won’t have all of those, since they are just stand-in initials for the real names. Were there any other fonts that you were considering instead?

@csvinson:  can I ask why you’re ordering them a year out?

I ordered my Save-The-Date Cards probably 3 months before I should have and ended up hating the design by the time I sent them out.

I also agree about the font – I think your names should be in the script, and the rest of the invite should be in a serif font.

@csvinson: I’m not sure what various fonts are available to you through the company you have selected. However, I agree with Jacinda10 that having a serif font for the main portion of the invitation and a script font for your names would look best. This would provide a very clear contrast so that your names become the most important information on the invitation.  This is exactly what I did for my invitations, although, for the serif font, the font featured all small caps.  Below is a sample image from a website (I ordered mine through a stationery store), of the same invitation I ordered, using the same fonts:

They’re pretty, but yes, I would definitely change the font. I’d go for a big modern font instead, it would match the invitation more and be less distracting. something like this, maybe?

+1 to PP. I think the font, especially your names, needs to be bigger and more modern to match the snowflakes. And I found it a little hard to read but that could just be because I’m looking at it on a computer and not in person. Otherwise, I really like them!

Just noticed your wedding date. I also wouldn’t order them so far away, I’ve been thru 20 different ideas in the last 2 months. Our theme changed from beach to peacock/glam/over the top so the invites needed a serious change too. Actually, I changed them again this week after I just made 20 envelopes so now I have 20 envelopes that are garbage. A lot of wasted $$ for something that was supposed to save me money…

@csvinson:  You should order some Save-The-Date Cards instead!  You could do magnets and postcards if you have a lot of groupon money to spend.

I have a feeling if you order them now you’re gonna be wasting it because you’ll change your mind.

@Brielle:  For the serif font, I’d suggest Copperplae gothic light.  It’s NICE!  WHen I use it I capatlize every word because its a block font so the first letter will always be a smidge bigger.

@Brielle:  I love you invites.  They are almost like mine – super classy and they are AWESOME!  I love that grey envelope liner.  LOVE it.

@jacinda10: Thank you so much. I absolutely LOVED my invitations! I have to admit that I spent a ridiculous amount of money on them, but I just had always had wanted formal, engraved wedding invitations. I figured, on what OTHER occasion could I possibly justify doing that? lol. Because of the engraving on the envelopes, I opted not to order a liner with mine.  But, I agree, they would have been pretty that way as well.  It sounds as if we have similar tastes! 🙂 By the way, I agree that Copperplate would be a nice font for the OP to consider.  My staff and I at a former job used that a lot for our special event invitations!
