So I struck out with the locket idea I posted yesterday. I still really want to get a wearable piece of jewelry with a personalized message.
What do you Bees think about these new ideas?
1. Initial necklaces
2. Bangle bracelets with personalized charm
3. Pearl bracelet with personalized charm

I really like the initial necklace! I got my girls a bracelet from Swarovski, a gift card for Victoria’s Secret, a bridesmaid tank to wear while our hair n makeup got done, and a picture frame with the 4 of us at my shower.

Any gift is sweet, and it totally depends on your girls… but personally I don’t like getting things I’m supposed to wear (outside of the wedding). It’s just too personal of a statement unless they are really neutral classic things – like plain pearl studs, or a plain bangle I can layer with my personal jewelry. I’m not into initial/monogram jewelry, and when I receive it it just goes in the drawer with the rest, though I know plenty of girls who love it – I really think it’s like either you love that stuff or you never wear that stuff.
I’m probably just going to get my BMs jewelry to wear for the wedding & little robes to get ready in, but nothing with a custom message, even their names/initials. I don’t think it needs a message for them to remember it’s from you, or their names for them to know it’s especially for them. Just my opin, I’m sure they’ll appreciate any gesture.

Honestly, I don’t like anything matchy, matchy. I’d suggest to shop for the girls as if it were their birthday, finding something that fits each of them uniquely.

I’m going the impersonal route and getting them all Etsy gift cards. That way they can choose something that they truly like. And there really is something for almost everyone on Etsy!

To be honest, I never liked personalized things with my initals on them. I got enough necklace’s with L’s on them as a kid, I wouldn’t want another as a bridesmaids gift. It just seems kind of childish to me.
When I was in my cousin’s wedding she got us all clutches with Clinique mini mascara, eye shadow, makeup remover, lip gloss, lipstick, perfume and our wedding jewelry. Ever since I have become obsessed with Clinique products. I really enjoyed that gift

Im torn between the necklace and the bangle, but I voted for the bangle because I assumed that most girls have alot of necklaces, but not bracelets, which is usually true. I love both though…

I also want to vote for getting them each an individual gift. I don’t like when the “gift” is just part of the wedding day outfit. I think jewelry is so personal that its hard to get something they’ll truly wear.
Doing individual gifts is hard too but my girls loved their individual gifts. For example, I gave my one girl a gift card to Amazon and the book “1001 books to read before you die” because she’s an avid reader. My other maid was also an avid reader so I did the same for her but because she was pregnant at the time she got “1001 kids books” instead 🙂
I gave another friend a cheese making kit because we both like cooking and I had a cheesemaking kit and we’d do it together so I got her one of her own.
I know this is a really non-traditional route but its worth exploring.
