I am currently trying to figure out who to book as a florist. Unfortunately, I know nothing about flowers, and my wedding colours (grey, powder blue, and white) aren’t found too naturally. (I have come to terms with the fact that my bridesmaids/groomsmen will probably have peach flowers.)
My issue is now with my centerpieces. Currently, Dear Fiance and I are inviting 330(!) people to the wedding, but I am anticipating(hoping) for 270(the hall minimum). That means I need at least 30 centerpieces.
I do not want to blow my budget on centerpieces. I would love to spend about $50-60 per centerpiece.
Some other important information:
- I cannot rent centerpieces, as they will be given away some time during the evening
- The walls of the hall will have blue uplighting
- The tables will be white and grey/silver
- The ceilings are HIGH (see picture below)
If anyone has any suggestions on some sort of affordable centerpiece/flowers, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Currently, what I am leaning towards is a tall vase with approximately 6 white hydrengeas on top (creating a ball of flowers.
Thank you sooo much!

My suggestion would be to google ideas. I googled hydrangeas tall white centrepieces and tons of stuff came up..but I dont know how to add pictures lol. Also have you tried the pinterest site? I’m sure you will be able to find lots of ideas on there then can find a way to do it yourself for cheap.

@MrsMermaid: Where is your reception?
http://www.europeanelegance.ca/ did my sister (as well as her friend)’s wedding and they were thrilled with the value, the quality etc. They’re in Vaughan (but work everywhere) and I think are used to big weddings. I met with Yianni, the co-owner and he was a really nice guy.
I ended up going with http://www.pinktwig.ca because I wanted more specialized centrepieces and they are a bit more boutiquey/creative. I also really liked that I walked away after our hour-long initial meeting with a totally thorough quote that identified exactly what we’d talked about, exact prices etc.
I think you can’t go wrong with either vendor, but I liked Pink Twig’s attention to detail.
EE also does decor, which may be helpful for you (both my sis and her friend used them for decor, right down to the chairs, and they were very happy with everything). Perhaps they’d be more willing to keep costs lower if you’re doing a lot of business with them.
Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for the recommendations, I will have to look into them.

How about blue orchids? They look great submerged in water in a tall glass with some floating candles.
