Our theme is Spain-inspired and our wedding colors are red, yellow, and orange (fall colors). When I think of Spain I think of lace, wine/corks, good food, orange blossoms and my creative mind stop there, lol. I’m starting to feel at a lost as to how to transform our reception vesnue and give it a Spain feel to it.
When you think of Spain, what items or decor ideas come to mind?
Please help! Thanks In Advance 🙂

I lived in Spain for a year smack dab in the middle of an orange tree and olive tree grove. I think your suggestions so far are pretty good. I also think of Flamenco music and dancers and bull fights (running of the bulls…did it…never again). There is also the castle and ocean elements as well that you can incorporate.
Do you have photos of your venue? That might help.

I lived in Spain for about 2 years, and I traveled all over the country. It varies a lot by region, so there isn’t really one unified “Spanish” look that comes to mind. If you’re going with the Andalucia region, then I think of lace, white mountain towns, heavy wood tones, intricate details (like the Alhambra), and, of course, Flamenco music.

Well, I’ve never been to Spain, but I’ve been to Oklahoma…Sorry the Three Dog Night song popped into my head. I actually have been to Spain. I love the idea of lace and vibrant colors

@Treejewel19: I love the idea of flamenco dancers and music. My Fiance and I have considered having a guitarist to play flamenco music during our cocktail hour and having dancers. I don’t have a picture of my venue but the reception area is a blank canvas and it has a view of the water (it’s located in Miami Beach). Btw, riding with the bulls is one of the things my Fiance wants to do! I would love to do it but I’m not sure if I can run fast enough, lol!
@atalante: Yes! Love the idea of using spanish tile….but I don’t how I could incorporate it. I have seen one wedding using it in the form of seating cards.
@julies1949: I love the idea of the banner with lace! We wanted to use it for our e-shoot but it would also looked great for the wedding.
@MissBananaBread: You mentioned a point which my Fiance has pointed out to me which is that many regions do vary (he’s been to Spain for a short time). I’m glad you mentioned the Andalucia region because it’s a region Fiance has mentioned but has not described it the way you did. Your description involves the elements we want to incorporate to the wedding 🙂
@billyjoelfan: Thanks! I’m happy you mentioned the idea of our choice of colors. I have seen some spanish weddings and I have seen the use of red, turquoise, black, and purple. We wanted something a bit different and we love rich, bold colors.
Thank you, Bees!! 🙂
