@jen9999:  can you get a second opinion from another doctor at the clinic?

@jen9999:  sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle.  Can you clarify if the first round you froze 6 eggs or 6 blasts?  I’ve seen some people absolutely flop the micro flare protocol, so I’d maybe consider going back to your original protocol.  There’s also a drug called rekovelle that seems to work wonders with DOR.  IMHO I wouldn’t rush to surgery for endometriomas 3 and 5 mm!  Agree with pp, maybe get a different opinion or that flare protocol wasn’t the right one for you!

Amh is just an estimate so you’re never likely to get the same number twice. It can fluctuate. Based on your age, your amh looks good and it seems very unlikely you have DOR. FSH is also good. If you did have DOR, your response to the first round would likely have been much lower. I have dor and it took me multiple rounds to get 6 embryos and I’m a few years younger. I’m guessing the difference in response is based on the different protocol. If the first protocol worked well, why did they switch? I’d switch doctors honestly.

Edit- I see you froze eggs not embryos. Is there a reason why? I’d rethink that strategy going forward. 6 eggs is different than 6 embryos. Fertilized embryos are much more stable. It still doesn’t seem like DOR is the issue, though.

I really think you should find a new clinic, or at least a new doctor. What your doctor is saying doesn’t seem to make any sense, and I also have no idea why he would have you do a micro flare protocol, and I ALSO do not understand why he would have you freeze eggs instead of blastocysts when you’re married and trying to conceive with your husband. Freezing and then thawing eggs often ends up destroying a percentage of them – you are much better off fertilizing the eggs while fresh and then freezing any blastocysts you aren’t ready to use right away.

good luck to you!! I hope you are able to find better guidance soon ❤️

@jen9999:  we cross posted so I see now that your husband was out of town so your doc had you freeze eggs. Again, that makes no sense to me – any good doctor would tell you that your husband could have provided a sample at any time and have it frozen, and then they could thaw it the day of your egg retrieval to fertilize that day. I’m concerned that you are not being given good guidance.

@jen9999:  your units are different than mine, there are charts online to correlate age and amh! What is your fsh?

@jen9999:  there is a TTC board but not a specific IVF board. I also want to assure you that DOR is not the end of the world (though I don’t think you have it). It was a rough road for me but I’m listening to my beautiful baby girl coo to herself in the bassinet as we speak. 4 egg retrievals, 5 transfers, 3 years of struggle but she is worth it. There is no guarantee i can have a second and that sometimes makes me sad but I’ll give my daughter the world instead and I’ll come to terms with that.
