I am having a very non traditional wedding that I want to be very casual and relaxed. My question is can I still have a casual wedding at a more formal venue? I have attached a picture of our venue. (Also, by casual I mean we want to have a large inflatable obstacle course (similiar to a bounce house…) in the lawn area during the reception since we aren’t having dancing!) also, my dream venue would be on a camp site in the woods but my parents are paying for most and they already put money down for this venue so we cannot change it… thanks for your help!

Nicole113: If I were a guest at your wedding, I would not be doing any obstacle course in my outfit that I may have purchased expressly for your wedding.
Children and drunks may think it’s great fun, but I don’t see too many of your female guests participating.

I don’t think the venue makes the formality, I think the atmosphere you and your guests create really determines it. So yeah! Do it!
And ha – I must be a child or a drunk because I’ve had a ton of fun in a bounce house at a wedding 😉

Nicole113: I agree with lolot. its as formal as you make it. if you tell them on the invite to dress a certain way they will. just make sure the bridal party aren’t in tux and gowns!!
I would be that drunk in the obstacle course. haha

lolot: SoontobeMrsFisette: thank you so both so much!! I was definitely thinking of putting on the invites to dress casual and telling them what they can expect! I know I’m a child because I want to go in my wedding dress and all! 🙂
