Please help! My wedding is less than 5 months away, and we still have not ordered the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. Perhaps cliche, but I am really worried about my BMs loving their dresses, and with 6 girls of difference sizes and shapes, in different countries, we have been unable to find anything… at this point, we are running out of time to order any dresses at all!
To the point – doing 3 different colours (e.g. navy blue, light tulip, and burgundy, or something like that), 2 girls sharing each, but same dress. Style – 1950’s, Grace Kelly’s full skirt, formal but summer wedding (so, knee-length). Considering how far apart we all are, we have no choice but to order online without even seeing the samples, so the girls are really concerned about the quality of fabric/dress (looking cheap or casual etc)… In terms of fit, we’ll do minor alterations, if necessary, locally; however, I am torn as to which dress is “less likely” to be unflattering with fabric/cut… Plus, having my FI’s sister as Bridesmaid or Best Man puts a lot of pressure – she wants to look great for her brother’s wedding, and her and Maid/Matron of Honor are willing to put down 300-400 for THE perfect almost-couture dress, but I do not feel it is right to force other girls to buy anything so expensive… plus, this is one instant where I say – I am the bride, you shouldn’t try to upstage me! (Oy, sorry…. bridezlla moment :(?..)… but having them scoff or be unhappy is obviously not ideal :(.
So, these are the dresses I am considering – what do you girls know about these designers, quality of fabric, quality of dresses, fit, how “cheap”/good they look etc?.. Would the colours I mentioned look good?.. Any advice would be really really appreciated – thank you for your patience and help!!!
