Ok I feel dumb asking this, but I am trying to create a centerpiece with silk flowers submerged in tall vase of water.. My question is; how do you get the flowers to stay submerged, because I’m guessing if you just pour the water in the flowers will float. How do you get them to stay under the water?

You can use rocks or glass beads (colored or clear) and tuck the flower stem into those to hold them down. I am looking into submerged centerpieces as well, and this is how most of the ones I have seen were arranged.

I have also heard of people using glue to glue the stem to the base of the vase

Thanks bees.. I think I know what I will do. I’m looking to use glass stones and pebbles so I will glue a glass pebble to the side of the flower and that should work

@RingAroundtheRosie: I think the jello idea is pretty cool.. altho am scared it could be messy

@bells: I like the jello idea too, but I am afraid it would melt in the heat!
