I never experienced this during my pregnancy, I think your best bet is to call your doctor and get their professional opinion

I’m no doctor, but my guess would be sciatica.  You should see a doctor, my boss has that problem and to avoid surgery shes been getting epidurals to stop the pain, but if it doesnt go away she will need surgery.  I think you need a professional opinion.

Call your doctor. It could be sciatica, which is very painful and common during pregnancy, and not at all serious. But you could have DVT (a blood clot) and if there’s a chance of that you need to get it treated immediately. Not that I want to scare you, but find out for sure what’s causing the pain. Have you been on any long plane or car trips lately?

If the pain is that severe, you should probably get it looked at. Go to urgent care, or something. Don’t just go relieving pain until you know what it is.

What about a nurse’s hotline or a walk in clinic?

I’d be worried about something like DVT/a clot.

Okay, read your update and see that your doctor can’t find a cause? So I’d imagine it’s not a blood clot. It’s probably sciatica. I would insist that the doc recommend a chiropractor or physical therapist who is experienced treating pregnant women. It’s ridiculous to leave you in pain and do nothing.

@roxy821:  I would ask your doctor.  It sounds like what I have had with my sciatica but I would call to make sure.  Ice really helps me when it acts up, that and a chiropractor.  Feel better!

YES, a blood clot could come on that fast, definitely call your doctor. It may be nothing, but it could also be something very serious.

I’d get it checked, as my first thought was blood clot/DVT, which are much more common in pregnancy than otherwise. Could also be sciatica, but I think it’s worth the trouble to at least call your doc and get the tests if you need them. Feel better!
