I will try to make this as short as possible
My husband and I have decided to TTC this month for the first time! The only form of BC I have been using for the past 5 years has been tracking my period/fertile days.
My cycles are normally 28/31 days, give or take a few cycles here and there that are around 35-42 days, but very rarely !
I don’t temp but I note ovulation symptoms and always get a period around two weeks later. My symptoms are always: high sex drive, EWCM, mild cramping.
I’m hoping you girls can help me out as I am super worried that all of a sudden, my cycles are completely out of whack. Last cycle was 35 days, the cycle before that was 43 days! Now going into this month, I have not ovulated yet and I’m starting to get worried ( currently on CD 17!!) I know all cycles can be different but the first month TTC and waiting to ovulate is driving me crazy!!
Here is the weird part: the last few days, my nipples have been killing me. They are red and sore. I NEVER have this, even during PMS/ AF.
What could possibly be going on?! I have been under crazy amounts of stress lately which I’m sure is contributing to this (anxiety disorder I’m currently trying to work through which has sparked the last few months).
Any insight would be appreciated. I just want to ovulate already!

Mick26: have you taken a pregnancy test? Were you cycles normal coming off of the pill?
My best guess is that you are under stress and are having a delayed ovulation. Hence the surging hormones. You’ll ovulate soon (hopefully). I didn’t ovulate until CD 35 the month I got pregnant!

Pollywog: thank you for your response !! No I haven’t tested. Maybe I should ? We BD CD 9, 12, 13, 15 so maybe it’s possible? And yes my cycles are almost always 28-30 days. Besides the last two months, my last longer cycle was back in nov! How did you deal with the delayed O? I’m trying to keep calm but it’s so hard!

Mick26: You honestly never know. I’ve ovulated anywhere from CD8 to CD35. It’s a pain. I always take a cheap test to rule out pregnancy, but my guess is that you’ll ovulate in the next week.
I’m not patient at all and found temping helped. But I’m a researcher who loves data, I’m not normal 🙂 I also found lots of wine helped. Having a crazy cycle means you need to BD a lot and it gets old. Then you’re in the first trimester and you have no sex drive. Enjoy it now!

Mick26: I agree with Pollywog first take a test then you should start temping! That’s the only surefire way to know you ovulated. Otherwise you can drive yourself crazy with symptom spotting and waiting/not waiting to O. I feel so much more sure of my cycle and our timing now that I temp/chart! GL!
