I have a huge bridal party with all different body sizes. I have two bridesmaids that are afraid this dress will make them look ugly 🙁 I think they will look amazingly sexy and glamorous but that might be due to that fact that I love the dress myself. I want an unbiased opinion about this dress on these two following body types (below). Thanks for all the helps <3
Dress = Bari Jay #200
Material: Charmeuse Satin
Bridesmaid “A” = 4’11” and is 120 lbs (apple)
Bridesmaid “B” = 5’0” and is 240 lbs (pear)

I have three bridesmaids under 5 feet tall, and they all insisted that they would not wear a long dress because they didn’t want to look short, so I picked short ones.

Everyone looks great with a defined waist and in a sweetheart neckline! Love it! xo
If you arent able to try this exact dress on my girls ordered one very similar from Alfred Angelo 7132! Check it out! If anything it’ll help you rule in or rule out! Best of Luck! xo

I think it would be really flattering! Is there any way that they can try on the dress or something similar so that they/you can know for sure? I think the dress is gorgeous.

Sometimes satin (that particular fabric) can …show things. Personally I love the style, but would put my girls in a different material. That one can just be difficult to pull off for some body types.

I agree about the material. Nothing too “clingy.”

I think the dress is gorgeous but as a shorty myself, I don’t like wearing long dresses….ever!
For sure they need to be able to try them on to see how they fit, how comfortable the fabric is (whether it clings) and also what they will look like when it’s hemmed to the appropriate length.

I am hourglass shaped but with a little extra around the middle (so almost pear) and honestly, I’d be uncomfortable. The long dress with the high waist makes my stomach stick out, it’s not fun. Especially with that material, I think it would cling to the curves, both attractive and unattractive. Sorry, but I had to be honest 🙁 It is a beautiful dress though.

Thank you girls sooo much for your quick replies/input. Unfortunately they dont want to wear short dresses. And most salon do not carry this type of dress over 16 🙁 So Bridesmaid “A” will try it on tomorrow but Bridesmaid “B” wont be able to even try on the dress. Bridesmaid “B” kept talking about clingy material and since a lot of you already raised concern about the material being clingy as well I think I might have to keep looking 🙁 Although I do LOVE it I want ALL my bridesmaid to feel gorgeous.

Are you set on having all your girls wear the same dress? I have 6 BMs (no MOH) and all are wearing different styles. All the dresses are Alfred Angelo’s Tealness, and they’re all long and simple. But I let each girl choose the style that was most flattering on them, so they all look and feel comfortable.
If you do want them all in the same dress that won’t work, obviously, but it’s an option. Or maybe choose 2 styles and allow them to choose between 2?
