We already lived together in our townhouse and had pretty much everything so we didn’t register. Luckily, only two people inquired about a registry and we just simply said we didn’t register and they left it at that. We received a few gifts, but mostly cash and lots of gift cards to Macy’s BB&B, Sears, Home Depot and HomeGoods. 90% of our gifts were the gift cards and cash so it worked out great for us. We loved everything. I think your honeymoon registry is the perfect idea for you two!

Register at Bed Bath & Beyond–you can swap your gifts for cash!!!!

Even if you don’t want or need more stuff, lots of people will feel compelled to give you something. So register as a favor to your guests, not necessarily for yourself.

Be aware that if you do not register, you will receive gifts you don’t want and cannot return anywhere. Never assume that you will receive cash as many people do not give cash gifts for any reason. Everything can be upgraded, and if you don’t want to put upgrades on your registry, then register for fun stuff such as camping, entertainment, etc. It doesn’t have to be all household appliances and bedding, but also be aware that many folks find honeymoon registries and asking for cash of any kind to be rude and will not comply with those requests.
