I am having trouble finding a great quality BBT – I want the thermometer to be a true 1/100th of a degree. Some of the advertised ones only read to 1/10th. Can you tell me what brand you use? Does it read to the 100th? How long does it take to read your temp? What are your complaints, if any or compliments? Please help me!!! * Crazy Thermometer Lady* #wantsaccuracy!

newbabybee: I have the Target Up&Up (their store brand). It doesn’t light up and I get a little confused sometimes on how many times to push the button to make it reset, which is a little annoying in the dark, but I’m sure I could read the book on it if I were so inclined. For under $10 and two decimals places I’ll take it!

Fairhaven brand because it only beeps when you turn it on once and 4 times when it’s done. Other brands beep the entire time it’s in use and I didn’t want it to annoy or wake Darling Husband each time I use it. Also, it doesn’t have a back light so the batteries last longer and it has an easy press and hold button recall feature so you can check your morning temp later on when there’s light and your eyes are alert and not sleepy. I ordered mine throught the Fairhaven website.

I used the nexcare (reads to 1/10). I liked it because it beeped while taking the temp so you know it’s on. It was also backlit and the font decent sized so it’s easy to read.
But I got the Mabis brand because I wanted 100th of a degree. It only beeps when you turn it on and when it’s done. Sometimes it turns off while its temping and I don’t realize it until it’s been a few minutes and turn on a light to see (it’s not back lit and the font is super tiny). So it’s a bit of a pain.
Between the two, the temps differ which I guess isn’t a huge deal if you stay consistent and use just one. The nexcare is always about .3 to .5 degrees higher than the mabis.
