Hello everyone! My wedding is this coming November and a beach resort in Florida. It will be a day wedding with hopefully a lot of sun! I really want my bridesmaids to wear gold dresses while mine is ivory. Even though it is a day wedding my fiance insists on wearing a black tux and I have been told that is perfectly fine!
Other than the attire, I have gotten nowhere and I have no idea what to do for flowers or other colors for decorations! PLEASE HELP ME!

@Dev0609: P.S. It will not be in the sand! It is in a courtyard with the reception inside high in the hotel over looking the water.

What about a pale blue or a pale pink?
I think pale pink and gold would look particularly good together.

@Dev0609: I’m a wedding planner and event designer and your colors sound beautiful almost modern!
Before you start going crazy you’re still in great planning shape—so take a deep breath.
Now have you thougt about the overall look and feel that you want to obtain from your day? Are you going for a preppy, modern, vintage, or romatic feel? I ask this because you can go in a very different directon with your florals and really your next color choice…
I’ll help you!

I think that if you wanted to do a color, a champagne or blush would look nice, or maybe mint? That mint/gold combo is big right now.
You could also stick to shades of gold and ivory though, and that would look nice too

White, pale pink, or yellow would look lovely!

I like all of those ideas. Let me also add that I do have red hair, so I am trying to stay away from pink and any other colors that might clash with that. Phebe, Let me try and put this into words. 🙂 I am looking for a more modern feel. Just very elegant and classy and simple…if that helps.

@Dev0609: I think you should first decide the overall feel you want to give off. Do you want the look to be romantic, modern, edgy, vintage, etc. Once you decide that I recommend that you speak with your florist to find out what flowers are in season in Florida the month of November, and find out what colors those flowers go in. For example, while peonies are gorgeous and romantic they are only in full bloom during the spring. Any other time of year and you either can’t get them or will be charged a ton extra to get them flown in.
In general I think gold looks great paired with almost any color. In fact gold is one of my accent colors (my main color is amethyst).
