I’d have red velvet.  The white cake and whipped frosting sounds delicious, but I don’t care for fruit fillings.

    Red velvet hands down.

A question to ask: do they make “real” red velvet cake, meaning without food color? If not (like most bakeries) i’d steer clear – your guests, and yourself if you indulge, will most likely get stained teeth. (like wine teeth but worse and instant) Especially if a cheap, poor-quality food color is used (which generally, if theyre using dye in a red velvet they are).

I’d do the whole thing marble and call it a day – with buttercream, as it won’t  be affected by temperature/being out as much as whipped cream. This way, people aren’t given the option to be choosy.

I would do the carrot cake but with cream cheese icing.

Red velvet. I don’t like any of the other flavors of cake or fruit fillings at all.

People either love or hate red velvet cake.  I do not like it, I have tried to like it on several occassions from several places and it does nothing for me.

My vote is White cake, strawberry filling, whipped icing. Yummy!

@Happy Hopeful Bee:  What most places pass off as “red velvet” is just dyed cake … a true red velvet should be a rich, molasses-y cocoa cake witha  very fine crumb – and no food coloring! When it’s done well, if you like rich things, it’s incredible.

Red Velvet is very heavy. We had three different flavors including the first one you listed, a marble cake. It was def a hit having multiple flavors. Have you done your tasting yet? That really helped our decision!

I will say that I waas sorely disappointed when I had red velvet cake in the south a couple of years ago–it was so dry but also oily and just gross. I make WAY better red velvet from a box.

Any of the white or marble cakes sound good to me.  They sound safe too if you are looking to make sure a lot of people are satisfied.

I like almost all of the choices except carrott cake and almond anythng. I’d stay away from those two. One becasue of allergies to nut products, and second- if carrot cake was served at a wedding I was going to I wouldnt eat it.
