So when thinking about our ceremony music, my fiance and I have come up with a few options but I’m conflicted and need some help! We don’t want really traditional stuff. I don’t want to walk to the “here comes the bride” song. So our DJ said we need 3 songs, one for the parents/grandparents, one for the Bridal Party and one for me and my dad, but since we only have one set of grandparents, we can have one song for them and the bp, but it needs to be at least 5 minutes long. Ok so here are our ideas:
I am definitely walking to “Love me Tender” by Elvis (because I love it)
The parents/grandparents we were thinking of either having them walk to “Grow Old With you” by Adam Sandler (from the wedding singer) or “You Belong to Me” by Jason Wade (from Shrek)
I want the Bridal Party to walk to a song called “We” by Neil Diamon that’s super cute.
I’m concerned b/c the Jason Wade song and Elvis song are REALLY slow, especially Elvis. The neil diamond song is Neil and a ukulele, and it’s a little more upbeat. I’m worried it would be weird to go slow, a little faster, and then slow again. If the parents come in to the Adam Sandler song, then the Bridal Party could do the Jason Wade song. But i’m not sure. I LOVE the Neil Diamond song and want to use it at some point in the wedding.
What should I do??? Or if you have any other suggestions for songs, I would be totally open to them!
Ps. If it helps, we are having an outdoor, slightly casual wedding and our leaving the ceremony song is “Say Hey, I Love You” by Michael Franti
