Ok…so I found out today that my favorite singer in the world is coming this May for a concert. I really want to see him but at the same time, know I can’t afford super great seats.
I also happened to find a gorgeous ring I really like online as a RHR for an xmas/bday present for myself. 🙂
I could do both…go to concert and get ring but rather not spend on both. So, if it were you, would you get the ring or go to the show with your SO/DH?
I don’t want to post pics or say who the concert is b/c that might influence answers (if yout think the ring I like is ugly or you don’t like my favorite singer). 😉

You could always save up for the ring later. So I’d go to the gig. Never know when they would tour again.

Experiences end up meaning more to us than objects.

I’d rather DO things than get things. I’m more of an active person and don’t really like jewelry though.

You all make good points. The thing is, my singer comes every year but last year I had good tickets and had to miss the show b/c of a new job/conflict. Was soooo upset. BUT…Darling Husband is not into my favorite singer at all so I end up enjoying the show but not as much as I usually would but none of my friends like my favorite singer.

Go to the show. Who is it?? lol

Make a memory 🙂 go to the concert

Concert. I made a choice to buy a bit of jewelry instead of going to a concert and the lead singer died a year later =/
I would so have rather gone to see Type O Negative then have that silly bracelet.

Agree with everyone. People are happier when they make memories instead of buying objects.

I’d say +1 to all the reasons above for going to the concert and in relation to you not getting good tickets / having nobody to go with I was in a similar situation recently, none of my friends liked the singer (Taylor Swift FYI) and I went by myself and just got regular mosh pit tickets and I loved it, I am so glad I went and would recommend the solo concert experience over dragging along someone who’s not into it! Hope this helps 🙂 but playing devils advocate if you decide on getting the ring I’m sure if they come back regularly you will get another chance to go next year and get a better ticket 🙂

I’d go to the concert. I had something like this come up the summer before last and I had to decide if I wanted to go to a music festival where a handful of my favorite DJ’s would be or buy a 2nd wedding band which I really wanted. I went to the festival and didn’t regret it for a second, we still talk about that week ALL.THE.TIME! Best summer ever!

I loooove live music, the ring can always wait for a few pay checks but a concert waits for no one

What’s an RHR? It sounds like a medicale procedure.

@peachacid: Ha ha That made me laugh. Right Hand Ring. 🙂
You all made great points and I will definitely go to the show. It’s Kenny Chesney. 🙂 I LOVE him!!! I just would love to be in the sandbar but can never afford it. Hopefully I can get decent seats for not too much.
