My 20 year old son is currently in college, and is currently a 3.8 student. This summer he applied for an internship at a law firm, doing computer grunt work for a lawyer. There was over 300 young adults that applied, 2 were choosen, including my son. The pay for the summer was $20.00 a hour, 40 hours a week. We were ecstatic for him, but let him know his education came first. After his internship, they offered him a full time job. This worried me, for college is first priority. His boss told him he could work around his college schedule (with a tuition reimbursement program) and a possible raise of 5 to 10 dollars an hour. This is a possible income of 60k! I know there are a lot of ‘ifs’ here, but, wow! I started out at $3.85 an hour when I was done with school…

Good job, mama! I know its a great feeling when your children succeed. It reinforces that all the hard work you put into him was worth it ๐
