I was hoping to get a few more replies to my question before but I don’t think too many people saw it, the dress I’m getting is below and I asked for nude or champagne colored fabric under the sides because I dont want the sides to be see through but is that going to look right? Now I’m thinking that I should just ask to have the whole dress with an ivory underlay including the sides or maybe I should have the whole dress with a nude underlay. I wanted the sides to kind of have a see through effect without being see through like the original. In desperate need of opinions.

I’m really worried that the dres is too far into production now to change the color too 🙁 I’m getting it through Linda’s shop does anyone have any experience with them and making change to your original design?

Does anyone have any experience with how long change take with Linda’s shop? I made the decision before my dress was finished to go completely backless (the original has tulle in the back) so I’m just trying to get a feel for how much time that is going to add to the process.

80scherrycoke:  Linda’s shop will be pretty honest with you if you email and ask. When I went through her with a design change I simply asked her “Is it too far in production? Will this cost anything? If changed, how long will it add to the timeline?”

Her response in my case was that they hadn’t gotten that far and she could make the change at no charge and no extra time… obviousy every case will be different. When I got my final pics and the skirt needed to be “fixed,” aka: completely redone, she quoted me two weeks and that’s exactly what it took.

If someone could please PM me the shops and cherry or shop 2.0 and any other great replica dress makers, I would really appreciate it. I feel like I’m getting nowhere in this process…. Please and thank you! <3

Hello Bees! Anybody find the dresses by THE SHOP thick and bulky from the layers and layers of linings? It has so many layers that I can sweat up in an aircon room. I’m contemplating of taking out the extra layers to make it lighter and slimmer but I’m not sure whether it’s a simple fix. My town has limited skill seamstresses and I couldn’t afford to get another dress 🙁 Any advices?

80scherrycoke:  I agree with LyndsBee48, it’s probably best to just ask Linda’s shop about whether it is in fact too late and what they would recommend if not. I didn’t order my dress from them, but from what I read they do good work and would perhaps be in a better position to provide guidance based on the vision that you already articulated to them.

I personally would probably go with ivory, but there might be a nice contrast with one of the other colors. It really just depends on what you’re going for, but again I think since Linda’s shop could examine the swatches in person, they might be able to get a better sense of it. Good luck!

@nnenibee: Thank you!

Can you ladies who have ordered through these shops please tell me the type of questions you made sure to ask your vendor? I want to be sure I do this correctly to get the right outcomes!

Also has anyone ordered from Z**o318?

Okay, I know I’m posting a bunch of questions but I’m quite serious about this dressmaking process. How do you order a custom dress through Shop2.0?

ThaiL:  For any of the shops, I think it’s best to first contact one of their consultants (for Shop 2.0, go to the contact details tab on their website). That way you can get a feel for how well they understand your vision, what their projected timeline is, and also get their feedback about what they can and can’t do in terms of replication accuracy (if that’s what you’re looking for). I emailed back and forth with Shop 2.0 for weeks before submitting my order. Most bees here have spoken with Cherry, but there are other consultants–I think I read on one of the older boards that someone had a positive experience with Anty.

Overall I would say that clarity is key, and sending pictures with specific details in as few words as possible seems to be the most effective method.  I have seen other bees post their pictures/instructions on these boards for feedback before sending them to the shops to ensure their requests are clear.
