I recently ordered my veil whilst trying on the dress that is 99% certainly going to be “mine”. It’s a 45″ single fingertip veil. For reference I am 5’4″.
This is the dress, it sweeps out at the back to a soft train. The veil is attached to a comb with very slight gathered “poof” at the top, designed to be worn at the top of my head. I’ve tried to measures as best I can where this will fall on me and I think it will end just below my butt.
Now I’m wondering if perhaps I should opt to have another 5 or 10″ added to the veil (it’s being custom made), to make it fall lower on the silhouette. When I look at the train in the pic, it sort of starts to fall out below about the point where my 45″ veil would end, which I’m guessing is the ideal length?
If anyone has any fingertip veil photos or even slightly longer lengths (closer to ballerina/waltz length) if you could share them with me it would be SO helpful. Thanks a bunch! Some reassurance that I’ve chosen the right length would be a big relief!

I tried on a veil last weekend in a fingertip length (I ordered it in cathedral length, but wanted that exact lace, so I tried it on to get an idea of how the lace would look)…here are a couple of pictures so you can see where it fell when I was wearing it. I’m 5’6″ and I placed this veil a little lower than it sounds like you are planning to place yours.
I hope this helps!

I had a fingertip length veil, but I didn’t wear it on the top of my head, so it hit a little differently (plus I’m only 5’0 so it would have been a little long anyhow).
I also looked at this veil to wear at the top and it hit where the train started coming out. I think that’s a perfect length, everything looks nice and proportional that way.

Ohhh, how about a plain sheer veil. Your dress is sooo soo soooo pretty do you want to compete with it or cover it up too much?

Here is my veil that my mom made. I would say it is in between a fingertip and ballerina length veil. I loved it so much.

Oh girls… thank you SO much for posting these pictures… you all look so beautiful!!!
MrsKesslertobe your Mum did an AMAZING job – WOW! You looked just gorgeous.
PinkSparkleGirl my veil is very sheer, just single layer. I didn’t even think I was a “veil” girl, but when they told me to try one on, I fell in love. I also liked the extra bit of height it gave me at the top of my head (every bit counts, right?).
I think I’ll ask them to add a little bit (if possible). Just to make sure it’s not going to sit right at my butt length. I’ve emailed and ask if it’s at all possible.
Thank again, your photos are really inspirational and very helpful!

I am so excited that you are wearing this dress! This was my dress and people were going NUTS over it all day long.
The next day other guest were overheard asking if anyone had pictures of “the bride’s” dress because it was all they heard about.

I LOVED that my veil was fingertip. I originally wanted elbow length but I am so glad I didn’t go with it! The pictures turned out amazing!!!

Giagirl!!! *SQUEALS* Thank you SO much for posting your GORGEOUS photos here!!! It has been impossible to find pics of real brides in this dress and you look like an absolute VISION!!! You have just made my day, my week, my month!!! 😀
You look SO gorgeous! I have been realy struggling with the idea of ordering this amazing dress without seeing it on me in person properly… but you’ve helped me to inch that little bit closer to feeling confident. It looks every bit as beautiful on you as I have hoped it MAY look on me eventually.
Did you wear the ivory colour, or the white? Either way it just looks stunning!
