*please note – on the actual invitation everything is in caps except for my name and my fiance’s…. i also changed names and location for privacy purposes! my parents are paying for 50% of the wedding and my fiances parents are hosting the rehearsal dinner. I dont know if the way I worded it is considered proper etiquette or not

@Mint2Bee: just letting you know twenty “forth” is spelled twenty “fourth”.
also, I’m not sure if I would bother putting ” 6:00 pm “after the reception to follow.
it really doesn’t need the time there. ” Reception to follow” is nice

twenty fourt should be twenty-fourth
I would probably add “In the afternoon” after 5 oclock. i would also get rid of the time for the recpetion.

thanks so much bees!!
so it isn’t necessary to write what time the reception is at? should I put “cocktail hour and reception to follow” ? I know some people don’t like to stick around the venue until the reception (they’d rather go to their hotel to have drinks, etc) – in that case I was thinking it may be beneficial to know what time the reception begins

@Mint2Bee: yes, add 5 o’ clock in the afternoon.
is the reception at the same place as the ceremony? If it is, reception to follow is fine.
say your ceremony is what 30 minutes? That’s only one half hour till your reception. People aren’t going to leave. They will work their way to the reception. If the reception is elsewhere, you will néed to write Reception to follow at such and such location. Then your guests will go there.

the reception is at the same place as the ceremony

@Mint2Bee: I would delete your last name (implied with your parents’ names as hosts) and add “in the afternoon” after the 5 o’clock bit.
