@LittlemissJ: I think 1 is semi formal and 2 and 3 are both formal. Infact I love 2 and 3 damn it I have no weddings to go to this year.

I would think 1 is casual – looks like a sundress – and 2/3 are semi-formal – the materials and cuts just don’t scream formal to me. 2 might be the most formal of the choices.

1. seems on the line of casual/semi-formal to me. I can’t really tell what material dress #3 is, if it’s cotton, it would seem more like a casual/semi-formal summer dress. I think #2 is nice.

When someone says formal I think full length gown. Anything shorter would be semi formal.

2 and 3 are more formal because of the thicker straps. I don’t care for the first dress for a wedding.

Black tie is usually floor length, but you can get away with tea length. To me, that is formal.

To me, semi-formal means cocktail wear. I would say you could get away with dress 2 as cocktail wear.

1 and 3 are either casual or loungewear to me, although 3 is smarter than 1.

I don’t think any of them are formal. And I’m pretty sure I own #3 in mint green. #1 is semi-formal and the other 2 are dressier than sundresses, appropriate as a guest, definitely not formal but maybe semi-formal with the right accessories.

I’d say they’re all semi-formal. Formal to me means full length, or a really classy looking cocktail dress. These are more summertime fun dresses to me.

The first dress casual and the other two semi formal.
