I am a long time lurker that is posting for the first time! I
I am getting married October 2010 J! YAY
I purchased my dress off the rack last October – and when I tried it on I instantly knew it was for me (I love the drop waist and I knew in my search it was what I was aiming for)
Im a bit concerned about 2 things – The colour isn’t white, which I love but my fiancé made a comment about picturing me in a WHITE dress which he emphasized LOL – so now im obsessing about the colour….
But also too, im having second thought about it all together – keep in mind I have not done any alterations yet, and im hoping to loose about 15 lbs 😉
Can I get your brutally honest opinions?

It’s really pretty! Just tell Fiance that “white white” doesn’t look good on you and to be happy it’s not bright pink instead!

It’s very pretty! Honestly, most guys would probably think that color is white. But really, most people don’t wear white white dresses, it doesn’t look good on fair skin.

I think it is a beautiful and unique dress– it seems both dramatic and dreamy at the same time. I think it looks great on you now– I can’t imagine where you are going to lose 15 lbs from!
As for the “white dress” concern, I think guys just have no concept of shades like ivory and even champagne and how similar they are to white. I think when he sees you in the dress, it will look like a white dress to him. (I also don’t think guys realize how hard it is for pale girls to pull of a white white dress)

I LOVE it. The color is great and the neckline is so flattering. Two thumbs up!

Gorgeous! I especially love the bodice. Unique but not too far out there. And I agree with MissAsB–most guys probably can’t tell the difference between white and ivory/off-white/what have you. He’ll be stunned!

love it, agreed-guys don’t know the difference between shades of white.

Dress is lovely on you. And you really don’t need to fret about losing weight, you look great! The girls are right – white in manspeak covers a multitude – he probably means not red hahaha!!

its a beautiful dress, and honestly i agree w PP’s… i think your crediting your Fiance with more shades of white knowledge than he actually has! 😛 he prolly just meant seeing you in a non-colored dress! LOL. KEEP IT! and don’t stray!

I agree with everyone else – your fiance will not be able to tell the difference between varying shades of white. The dress is beautiful on you and you definitely do not need to lose any weight!

I think it’s fantastic! It’s so different and glamorous! I really love it and I personally love that it’s not white white.. that’s what gives it that old hollywood feel! I think it looks great on you! 🙂

What 15lbs? Your waist is so tiny in that dress. Super flattering, and I love dresses with straps. I wouldn’t worry too much about the color; I think he’ll still see you as a bride in a big dress 😉 You look fabulous and it’s a fun dress.

I think the dress is just great! It also looks wonderful on you. I’d go with it and not worry. The day of, he won’t be parsing the difference between white, diamond white, ivory, eggshell, and champagne (even if he knows the difference). If you love how you look in the dress, he should too. You will radiate confidence and happiness. And just leave it with that.
As for the 15 lbs, if you lose it you do, if not, don’t stress. The dress accentuates your shape wonderfully. If you really want to lose it, start with 5 lbs and then don’t stress if the rest doesn’t come off.
Congrats and Good Luck!

When my husband says white there’s a pretty huge range of colors he means.
And I really like your dress but play around with it till you feel really happy.

I completely agree with the other girls your body is banging in that dress. I worship the top of your dress. It’s beautiful and very unique. I say you’ve found THE DRESS!
