I took Clomid days 3-7 and got pregnant my first cycle And I’m currently almost 25w pregnant. I did have a few hot flashes but I’ve heard if you take it at night, side effects are lower but I can’t speak from experience because I took it in the morning. good luck!!

@MissLunchbox:  of course! I was on my iPad last time and hate typing on those things lol. I went off the pill March 2012 and had 3 “regular” periods, ranging from 28-35 days. AFter that, all hell broke loose. I had cycles ranging from 45-100 days. I was charting, and from my temps, was showing that I was ovulating (although one cycle, didn’t look like I did). I saw my doctor and she gave me a referral to an RE, since we were TTC and my cycles were all over the place.

My first cycle with the RE was investigative and they did bloodwork and ultrasounds basically every other day from CD3-CD20? My follicles were maturing super slowly, so my cycle went on for 45 days when my RE decided to pull the plug and put me on progesterone to start AF. He more or less diagnosed me with PCOS based on the long cycles alone, although I have none of the other ‘typical’ symptoms such as excess weight, hair growth and all that fun stuff.

He suggested we try Clomid for our second round to give everything a kick start and see how well my follicles responded. I did Clomid CD3-7, 100mg (usually they start at 50mg, but he went in fairly aggressively) and I was monitored every day/ every other day from CD3 until I ovulated on CD16. I tested on 14DPO and had a very clear positive! Blood tests were done CD14 and CD16 which confirmed the pregnancy and a great doubling rate.

That’s it! If you have long cycles I highly recommend getting them under control either through a doctor or RE. I was tested for thyroid issues and did have hypothyroidism which I didn’t know. I was put on 0.075mg of Synthroid from my first cycle at the RE and am still on it now, and my levels are monitored once per trimester. I should also mention I was put on 500mg of Metformin during month 1 with the RE and continued taking it until I got my BFP. I was supposed to be on 1000mg but it honestly made me so ill and gross feeling I just took half the dose and called it a day.

PLease keep us posted on your success, and feel free to PM me anytime if you want! For what it’s worth I had zero side effects with the Clomid ๐Ÿ™‚ Much like

@lroetheli:  mentioned, if you can tkae it at night you might not feel anything. I was told to take them no later than 8pm and I took them at 6pm each night and felt fine every day. Good luck!!!!!

I did 2 cycles of the lowest dose of Clomid. I charted 2 cycles before, 2 cycles during, and 2 cycles after. I wasn’t ovulating before, but did during and after. We gave up after that and were booked in to see a specialist another couple of months later and I was getting worried that my period would come on that day. I took a day off work sick with what I thought was a bad cold and took a pee test just to make sure Aunt Flow wasn’t going to show up before my appointment and sure enough 2 very dark pink lines! We’re expecting to welcome Hunter John into the world in just 11 more weeks now ๐Ÿ™‚ While the back pain is currently excrutiating, my temper is quite short, and I’ve had zero sleep in the past few nights – I wouldn’t change a thing ๐Ÿ™‚

@MissLunchbox: thanks! a lot of people say my clomid experience was unnecessary because I was was clearly ovulating each month and had normal, regular cycles, but I trusted my OB. I had been on BC for about 12 years before going off in 04/11. In 09/12 I had a chemical pregnancy and then got pregnant again 12/12. Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage at 9w, and my new OB wanted to be aggressive and try clomid because at this point, we had been TTC for 15months and didn’t want us to potentially got through another 15 months without a viable pregnancy. we both had been tested, DH had a SA, I had an HSG, and everything came back within the normal limits.  I waited 2 months after my mc to make sure my body regulated again, and was given 100mg of clomid on days 3-7. I dont know if a lower dose would have had the same effects, but it obviously worked. Our little girl is kicking like crazy as I type this!!  I hope you have the same success!

@MissLunchbox:  Yeah a cycle following Clomid, but that’s what seemed to kick my hormones back into gear enough to start laying eggs again ๐Ÿ™‚
