I’ve been scrambling to think of a unique card holder idea. While birdcages, cardboxes, vintage luggage and mailboxes are all very cute they’re not really my style.
What are you doing that’s outside of those realms?
I saw a wooden chest/box at Michaels that had a letter stenciled on the side. But they didn’t have our new last name letter.
I’ve been looking at boxes/chest that have more of an Asian flair on eBay. But the ones I like are pricey!!!

Ack, I saw a GREAT idea on a blog a while back – I can’t I find it but I remember thinking this was awesome!
It was a travel trunk (like the old school kind in pirate movies) with a slit in the side for envelopes. They also bought stickers that looked like old fashioned luggage labels. The labels were so guests could write something on it & stick it to the trunk. It was a card box AND a guest book in one. Plus, it’d make an awesome coffeetable or storage trunk for the end of a bed!
**off too look for the damn blog where I found it**

Oh! That can be a cute idea!!!
Some other “storage” that I love!
Ooh. How about this one? Dimensions are L10″ x W5.5″ x H6.5″. Too small? Ugh. Almost $60 after s+h.

Our theme is x-mas so we are wrapping a box with a hole 🙂

if you do find a trunk you like I could cut out of vinyl your last name or letter really cheap. Or if you have your own cricut machine you could cut it yourself. Let me know if interested, would love to help you out!

I just bought this yesterday in white. I’m a clean and simple person. I’ll also only buying things for the wedding with purposes post-wedding as well. This will be great for filing papers! For the wedding I’ll put a ribbon around the center and hide the overlap under a sign of “cards” printed on extra craft paper in the center.

I’m using a chest (sorta like a treasure chest shape i guess you’d call it, lol) I got it from Hobby Lobby, I bought when the chest’s,box’s, etc were on sale (if you frequent Hobby Lobby, you know they’re 50% off stuff rotates weekly, so they will go on sale again like every 2 weeks or so). So if you have one nearby, they have tons of different chest’s, box’s and the like, I’m sure you’d fine one you love there :). hope that helps!

Thanks for that link!
I’ve seen that chest at Michaels a couple times and I keep going back to it but I wasn’t sure.
It’s definitely an option!
I’m exactly the same way. Everytime I buy something I think can I reuse this after the wedding? If I can’t I usually will pass it.
