godsgrace:  my ering is from blue Nile and I love it! I didn’t pick out the ring, but the diamond is so sparkly and I had it appraised, it matched blue Nile perfectly. My Darling Husband also said he bought a different ring first, but it was too small and they helped him get a different ring quickly and easily 🙂

Great experience, my ering and both our wedding bands are from Blue Nile.

Sidenote, if you are looking at round diamonds you can use the HCA calculator (google it) if you aren’t using it already since the GIA cut grade is pretty liberal.

Check Adiamor for another price comparison. I’ve found them to often times be cheaper than Blue Nile. Good luck!

Great experience with them. My ering is from from them as well as some other jewelty and all has been wonderful. You can also call and talk to a gemologist about the stones you’re looking at for additional information.

Also wanted to add if you are looking at cushions, jamesallen tends to have better pricing but otherwise BN is great.

We got our diamond from Blue Nile but had it set in a custom setting by our own jewler. I was so worried about spending so much money on something I couldn’t see. It was a round, 2.38ct, vs2, j colored diamond with medium blue fluorescence. The color scared me because it was J but I spoke with their reps and the were so helpful in assuring the diamond faced up “white.” So we took a leap of faith and our diamond was everything we expected and more! So happy we used them!

Love my rings! They came only a couple of days after being ordered and have a guarantee. You can exchange easily if size is an issue. My Fiance was happy with the price, so he went up half a carat before ordering. Everyone comments on how unique and pretty it is. I am very happy and this pic doesn’t do it justice!

godsgrace:  I bought a pendant from there and was highly impressed: great price and quality, arrived super quick and they were very communicative regarding the order (eg when it shipped etc). Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again on to recommend them.

With regards to choosing a stone, you don’t mention cut, which for a Round Brilliant {your don’t saying what shale you are looking at) would be top of my list. Along second PP who said to run it through the HCA calculator to see how it stores and to get an idea of performance (again, only if it’s a round stone).

I freaking big puffy heart LOVE Blue Nile!  My original e-ring (2002) was from Blue Nile and my anniversary upgrade (2015) was from BN as well.  I’ve also bought another diamond plus several earrings, necklaces, and gifts from them!  Every diamond has aways appraised spot on with the cert and diamond and value has always been more than what I paid.  Their customer service is fantastic and the 30 day return policy is one of the best in the industry.

I’ve heard lots of great reviews for blue Nile so we didnt hesitate to use them at all. But unfortunately our experience has been very negative. Blue Nile states that SI2 diamonds have inclusions under 10x magnification and may be visible to the ‘keen’ unaided eye. My fiancé purchased an SI2 diamond there As we agreed it would be a good value and as long as inclusions werent obvious we would be happy. It arrived with a large black inclusion just off from the center which could not be covered with prongs and was clearly visible from 3 feet away. Absolutely not worth the thousands paid for it. Returning the diamond was a hassle and disappointment. My fiancé had to pay insurance and shipping which was about $60. The ring arrived back and was reviewed by blue Nile, and they called him to discuss another stone. The woman told him that anything below a VS2 would have visible inclusions. Due to our terrible experience already, he chose to pay more and upgrade to the VS2. The diamond he chose would not ship for 3 weeks. He paid the difference and got a confirmation of when it would ship 3 weeks later. In the mean time, he heard nothing. At 3pm the day before it was supposed to ship, he received an email from blue Nile stating that some paperwork was missing from the original diamond and he would need to send it back for them to send out the new ring. Blue Nile had 3 weeks to inform him of this but failed to do so. He was traveling and told them that he would send  it out the following day (the day it was supposed to ship), and that he was very disappointed to be hearing of this issue the day before it was to ship. The next day, he received a call stating that it was an oversight and would still ship that day. An hour later, a supervisor called and said that until they received the tracking information for the paperwork that he was sending back it would not go out. He provided them this information and then received a further email stating that the ring might still not go out as planned,  because it was too late in the day and they were still setting it. Again I know lots of people have had very positive experiences with blue nile, but we will never use them again. Their online descriptions of quality of diamonds was deceiving and their customer service with us was really poor.  There was no consistency with who was helping process the return and my fiancé received calls and emails from a variety of different people throughout. After filing a complaint, they gave him $100 off. However between paying return $60 shipping and insurance, the headache of countless emails and phone calls with different people and 3 weeks with no ring, $100 doesnt do much. We will not use them again.

We just ordered a ring and two wedding bands and had the best experience! I was the most annoying person ever, changed the diamond three times, asked a million questions, changed from a 4 prong head to 6 prong… Embarrassing to say the least but everyone was so friendly and helpful whether I called or emailed. Highly reccomend! 🙂
