@Adams_bee:  10 minutes is a ridiciulously short time to expect people to give some thought and post a response. Give us a few minutes.

It’s also easier to suggest something if you tell us about your wedding- color, theme, pics of the venue etc. You may have posted these before, but if you provide all the information in one place, you are more likely to get some responses, than if we have to dig through your previous posts.

I looked back at your other post about seating plans for this room. You do have a beautiful venue.

For the ceremony I would concentrate the seating at one end. Leaving yourself a wonderfully wide aisle will accomplish two things. You can make a grand entrance, and if the chairs are set across the narrower dimension of the room, the seating  for the ceremony will require more rows of chairs, thus taking up more visual space.. You could have the ceremony  in front of one of the sets of doors on either end.

You could attach mini white lights to those curved beams. Can you dim the lights in the room?

Are you crafty at all? Do you have storage space available until the wedding?

You could get tree branches, stabilize them in pots with expanding foam used for insulation, attach tissue paper flowers and cluster these to make little garden groupings to fill out the room.

like this only 6-8 feet tall

Ok… I have an idea or two. But I have a couple of questions. In the picture above, you can see the glass doors on the other side of the room from the big pretty wooden doors. Where are the second set of wooden doors in relation to the glass doors. Which door will you be coming in from? and is the grand piano only allowed in the space it is now? or can you put it anywhere in the room? and does it have to have the riser or no? See… lots of questions… πŸ™‚

But as far as decorations for the aisle, I think I would own the crap ton of baby’s breath and maybe every 2 or 3 rows, put a big cloud of it, like in the first two pictures here: http://www.oh-lovely-day.com/2010/04/unexpected-loveliness-babys-breath.html

If I’ve envisioned this correctly, the guests will come in the glass doors, and look towards the big pretty doors from the previous post. I would have that be your “altar.” I would put two big fluffy baby’s breath wreaths on the doors. http://emmalinebride.com/decor/babys-breath-for-weddings/

If you want something to further set the area off, I might use that riser that the piano was on to definitively say where you’ll be standing, and line the aisle with rose petals (see that first link again) between the baby’s breath clouds.

I know people usually think of the piano as being up by the altar, but it might be fun to have it closer to where the guests come in, and have a person play, so that it both takes up room, and creates a gathering and socializing area before the guests get to their seats. You could even stage it up with a place to pick up wedding programs, and heck, sign the guest book NOW rather than at the reception.

Tell me what you think of these ideas…

Then I think I amend what I wrote slightly…

Ok.. so you have the guest entrance with that vestibule area… then I would put the grand piano immediately in front of that. I would put an arch (the arch you’ll be married under) between the grand piano and the chairs, with NO riser. Seat the guests by walking them under the arch, but have the chairs facing the opposite way. Have everyone for the processional walk up from your same entrance point to begin the ceremony. Thus, your pianist gets a great view of you walking down the aisle by putting him/her in the normal place, but you still get that effect of a nice gathering place for guests, and you get to be married under an arch in the middle of the room. Bam. Awesome. I love this. Everything is going to be so ridiculously pretty. I want to see pictures!

ETA: This will make your ceremony space feel about half – 2/3 the size!

So how big is your floral budget because those chandeliers would be amazing with greenery and flowers!
