UisceAlainn:  Me and my Fiance designed it with a local jeweller! I came in with a drawing and they made it just like I wanted it! loved the custom process 🙂

This is how I currently wear part of my set because it’s the most comfortable day to day (Except I need to fix a little issue with one of the stones) and the lowest profile. With a little shine!

I just posted my band on another thread but I’ll post it here too.  I chose to go with a decorative gold band, no diamonds no e-ring due to finances and practicality.   I wanted something I could wear everyday all the time.  For 15 years I NEVER took it off even for yard work and snow shoveling.  14k YG.  Tough as nails.  Not a scratch.

The band is 7mm.  Pattern is all the way around the ring (eternity).  I can only say that if I had wanted to stack or add a diamond solitaire later I would have needed to have the pattern repeat more frequently and not be so spread out.  And, of course, I would have had to go a little thinner–4 or 5 mm maybe.  But at the time I wanted a beautiful thick band that could stand alone so that’s how I designed it!  We got me an update two ring set last year for 15 anniversary and I love wearing it when I’m out but the second I’m in the door the sparkly two ring set is off and my original band is back on.  I can’t function around the house with a raised diamond –I just CAN’T!

Here’s pic.  7mm 14k yg.  I recommend a band with some kind of design or pattern as it hides scratches.

Sorry my phone makes my hands look so red and doesn’t show the true beauty of the gold.  The gold glows so much more beautifully in person.  I love yellow gold.

My original e-ring is a sterling silver infinity ring from Tiffany with my white gold wedding band. We recently decided to upgrade my e-ring to a moissanite solitaire for our anniversary but I’ll always love the simplicity of my original set.

Maybe this would  help.  I posted my floral gold band a few posts ago.  I now have a two ring set also that we got me for our 15 anniversary.   No I’m not totally old!  I married young.  So anyway,  I wanted to keep the theme with decorative floral w-band as part of the set.  I chose the band I liked best FIRST! and then an e-ring with raised diamond that complimenyed it.  I could easily wear the band alone daily.  It’s beautiful if I do say so myself.  And then I could pop on the diamond ering for going out.  There are tiny diamonds in the w-band but not raised and no snaggy prongs.  A lot of women endure daily wear of ering during engagement and then default to w-band for around the house once married. Pick a w-band you really like. 🙂

Here’s pic.  W-band is 4mm so it would have stand-alone power if ever I wanted it to.

I love the idea of a plain band as an e-ring. My husband and I got engaged with plain 18kwg bands at our engagement ceremony (he’s Turkish and there both parties wear an e-ring). Then I received a diamond ring as the ‘wedding band’. I loved that he and I both wore a ring while engaged.  Forgive his hairy fingers 🙂
