Depends on your finger size really but generally to the naked eye an almost 1.8 ct and a 2 ct stone will look the prettt much the same to the naked eye.

Visually, there isn’t going to be a noticeable difference between a 1.78 ct and a 2 ct. unless you put a ruler next to them to see the measurements, you probably won’t be able to tell! Are you looking for a round brilliant stone? Or a fancy shape? Can we get more info here?

My diamond is a 1.7 ct however my ring size is much larger than you are looking for at 5.75.  I will post anyways and you can picture the same diamond looking much larger on your tiny finger 🙂 lol.

beebeesh2 :  sure! I saw you post above re: sacrificing diamond colour and that’s actually what I did to get the best cut and size within my budget.  My diamond is a K colour, SI1, triple excellent cut, with a 1.6 HCA score.  I am so glad I went with a K, because the colour doesn’t bother me at all.  It was definitely the biggest bang for my buck.

I wear a size 4.25 and my diamond is a 1.72 ct.

For reference, here is a visual of a 1.78 ct (left) vs 2 ct (right) on a size 4.5.

And a chart..

beebeesh2 :  nope, none! My only advice would be make sure its well cut to reduce the colour appearance and pair it with similar colour diamonds.  My wedding band has I colour stones and its a very nice compliment to the K.
