I don’t have a picture, I’m sure the other bees will chime in soon, but the difference is not noticeable… I think it’s like a percentage of a milimeter!

I have no pics to help you out with… sorry, but between (if I remember correctly) a F color .9ct and J 1ct, I’d definitely go with the F.  Side by side and even on its own a J is very noticbly more yellow (unless you prefer a warmer stone.)  If you want colorless/white… I think the color would bug you way more than this unnoticible size difference.  .. . But I totally understand the conflict… I have a 1.3 and it bugged me for a while cause I really wanted a 1.5.  At the end of the day that fracton of a mm is not enough for such a drop in quality or increase in price (once again, assuming colorless is what you want).

ETA: Have you seen then side by side?  How about just going to a store and asking to see a few stones?

You probably won’t notice much difference at all between a 0.90-0.98 carat and a 1 carat. Even when I was looking at rings at one store that had a variety of carats, I had a hard time telling between the .5 and .6 carats they were showing us (we ended up going elsewhere and getting a 1.02 carat of similar colour/clarity, much better cut, for the same price, and that’s where I notice the difference.). It will be especially hard to tell once it’s in a setting. A friend of mine has a .85 carat diamond in a similar setting to mine (4 prong soilitare) and I don’t really notice a difference between the size of her stone and the sise of mine…

I have a .98ct rectuangular princess cut. Sorry the quality isn’t great, as it’s from my phone. Its an F color, SI1 clarity, but there are literally no inclusions I could see under a magnifying glass.  I tried on a .90ct princess cut and I couldn’t really tell the difference. I also tried on a .81ct princess and I was almost going to have my fiance get me that. The only thing that got me on the .98ct was that the others had visible inclusions and mine did not. Here it is:

cblank181:  While we can appreciate you’re in love with your ring, please stop digging up SUPER OLD threads (this is 4 years old). If you can’t find a more recent thread to add to, start a new one.

wannabmrsp:  I don’t think it really matters… There really isn’t a reason for you to be sour.

cblank181: my sweet = what you consider “sour”… *meh* to each their own.

I saw you were new to posting and was giving you a helpful hint. You were adding to a thread that was 4 years old. You’d be lucky if any of those posters are still even around to respond to you but you clearly know all around here so keep on keepin’ on; someone else will rip ya a new one I’m sure. πŸ™‚

wannabmrsp:  Actually, the search tab is so people can research. That is exactly what it is for. Maybe one day some other girl would like to compare her ring to mine four years later. WHO CARES! I’m glad I found the old thread. Find something better to do with your time instead of playing monitor when no one asked you to. Sorry to be abrasive, but this is ridiculous.

I’d rather people contribute to old ring threads, instead of making 1000 new similar ones, for what it’s worth. These kinds of threads help current users in their searches, that’s just my opinion though.

peegee: Exactly! This way someone else down the road can compare as well. I for one am so glad I found this. It really helped me 😊 Plus it is more of an unusual size, so why not just add to what’s already here.
