This is what it will look like in December! wedding band is .6 cts and goes 1/2 way around. I didnt want it too bulky. i think its perfect because I plan on wearing just the band to work (health care job).

Just engagement ring…..  .9 cts. “G” and VVS1. Platinum. Cathedral setting the two outside prongs dont touch, they are kind of feather like.

If you are looking for a four prong setting that is a little different there is always a compass/north-south-east-west setting

I originally wanted a 6-prong for the security, but I’m so happy with 4! I prefer the profile view because it shows off the diamond and lets more light in. I was worried it would make my round cut look square, but I don’t think it does 🙂

Four prongs is my favorite!  I’m actually resetting my one carat solitaire from a 6 prong setting to a 4 prong.  I like it the way it is, but I already have a 6 prong moissanite solitaire, and I had my heart set on that 4 prong setting.  Gorgeous bling gals!

Here’s a half carat round diamond solitaire, in a four prong setting that I came across at a pawn shop and scooped up last week.  I agree with a PP,  imo, it shows more of the diamond, and let’s more light in, and I don’t think it makes it look square.  However, I have seen some 4 prongs that do have a squaring effect.  I think the size of the prongs makes a difference.

smstewart:  I feel like you and I are almost ring twins. They are eerily similar!
