I’ve been looking for a new job for months and finally on Wednesday I got a job offer for a job super close to my house! I’m super excited.
Today I gave a week notice at my current job and emailed my new job with my start date as well as the dates that I will need off for my wedding (2 days for my wedding on 8/31/13 and 5 days for my honeymoon the last week of September) I haven’t heard back from her (its been like 2 – 2.5 hours since I emailed her) and how I’m freaking out that they are going to rescind the offer or something!
Bees please tell me that I am ok and that everything will be fine! I feel like I might have messed up this new job offer by asking for days off so early!
I’m such a worry wart!

@SaltLife22: Take a breath. Although this is very important for you, the manager probably already had other things on her “To Do” list for today, before she received your email. I’m sure she will answer you soon.
Congratulations on the job offer!

Congrats on the new job!
Did they talk to you throughout the interview process about taking days off for your wedding/honeymoon? If they asked for them then I wouldn’t worry about it!
Sometimes I don’t get a chance to respond to an email until a few hours later, just because of the sheer mass amount of “urgent” ones in my inbox. Give it a bit of time, I’m sure it’s fine.

Did you mention this at all during the interview process? I’m about to start a new job and when it got to the point of seriously talking about offering me the position and talking about benefits, they asked about any pre-planned vacations and such. I think it’s pretty standard.
Don’t stress too much. I ignore emails sometimes longer than I should at work, doesn’t mean I’m pissed, just means I’ve got other crap I have to get done first! You should be fine.

@SaltLife22: I wouldn’t worry about it. Maybe she took a half day? Maybe she has meetings all day?

Thanks so much for responding. I did hear back from her and she said that they approved my time off requests!!
I probably should have named the thread “How do I stop myself from needlessly worrying about EVERYTHING!” It is a curse.
