Sometimes the progesterone makes me nauseous. I was really surprised my first month off BC that I experienced some mild nausea early on after ovulation. I never threw up but I was sort of “ick” all day and had to suck on altoids to keep myself feeling ok to work.

I have been queasy since about 5-6 dpo and just had a chemical. I knew I was pregnant because of the nausea and other symptoms since they were similar to those with my first child. So, any things possible. Good luck!

I get mild nausea post ovulation in my cycle.  High progesterone levels (normal from ovulation to the start of your period) can cause nausea, headaches and slightly sore breasts.  Prenatal vitamins can also upset your stomach, if you’re taking those.

If you’ve recently gone off hormonal BC, I wouldn’t think twice about it, this might just be how you experience post ovulation hormones.  If you’ve been off a long time, and this is unusual for you, it might be something?  But it might not.  Symptom spotting is kind of the bane of the TTC woman’s exsistence, since just about every early pregnancy symptom is also associated with progesterone and PMS.

I usually make a note of all symptoms in my period tracker app, so I can track what’s normal for me and what’s not.

UsagiTsukino:  Thank you!!! That explains SOOOO much! lol. I’m not on BC this month and I’m experiencing nausea, headaches and my boobs are sooo sore. I was very confused, but your post explains it perfectly! πŸ™‚

Progesterone always makes me feel sick – I always feel sick from the day after ovulation all through my luteal phase. So it might just be the way your body works πŸ™‚

I only figured out I was pregnant when I didn’t get my period.. all the previous months I felt exactly the same except my period came. So my advice is just drink ginger tea and hope for the best πŸ™‚

ADiamondInTheRough:  winterwoodlandbride15:  Glad I could help!  I did a LOT of internet research when I went off the pill and started having the same problems.  If it helps, my symptoms were WAY worse my first few months off the pill, then tapered after it’d been out of my system for awhile.  My boobs HURT those first few months, now (TMI) I just get a bit of a twinge in my nipples right around/just after ovulation, and again for a few days before AF starts.

In hindsight, I’m kind of glad I chose to go off the pill almost a year before TTC (It was messing with my anxiety & depression), because now I have a much better idea of what my body does during my cycle.  My O symptoms usually line right up with when my period app tells me O is going to happen.
