Sorry it is a bit long…
That is the only comment I had for my first time trying on wedding dresses. Let’s just say that the whole experience was kind of an EPIC FAIL! So here is the story of how I was crying, not in a good way, over ny first wedding dress experience.
My oldest sister finally came to visit me in my new home this past weekend. I was very excited because she was bringing my two youngest nephews (ages 3, and 5). Also it was the first time that my sister would see my engagement ring. All night we talked about weddings, planning, pictures, cakes, churches and of course dresses.
The next day we drove up to our parent’s house. We were planning to all to drive together to our other sister’s house for our niece’s first birthday party. But my sister D wanted to go to David’s Bridal first to go look at wedding dresses. Who was I to say no, even though we did have the 3 and 5 year olds with us. Sometimes they can behave really well that you can take them anywhere. This trip wasn’t that time.
They were behaving well for the start of the appointment. We weren’t planning on being there that long. But as soon as I got into my first dress, the boys were RUNNING around the solon! Underneath the stock wedding dresses and yelling like they were on the playground. I told my sister that this wasn’t a good idea and that she needed to take care of her kids. The sales people weren’t looking to happy.
By the time I got into my 4th or 5th dress, all hell had broken lose. I was standing there in a wedding dress while my nephews were screaming at the top of their lungs. Again I knew that it was not a good idea to be there, but my sister just wanted to see me in some wedding dresses. But it was like WW3 in there! We had to get out. I told the sales person I was so sorry (many times) . By this time my 3 year old nephew CRAPPED his pants and was STILL running underneath the wedding dresses!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took the kid with poopy pants and all under my arms and carried him outside while quietly crying. As we headed back to the truck all my sister could say was, “ If anyone should be crying it should be me! All I wanted to do was see auntie try on wedding dresses.”
So that was my first experience at wedding dress shopping. I have no pictures to share with you. No fond memories, I can’t even tell you what dresses I tried on. All I can think of is “thank god he didn’t get any poop on the dresses. “
