So I’m torn between two dresses, please help me and vote for your favorite! Our wedding will be in Santa Barbara at a hotel ballroom with ocean views in October. I love both dresses and can’t decide.
The satin one has a beautiful lace bodice with crystal and pearl detail. Website here: http://www.jlmcouture.com/Jim-Hjelm/Bridal/Spring/2013/Style-8306
The tulle one also has a beautifully beaded bodice, and is more of a scoop neckline. http://www.jlmcouture.com/Alvina-Valenta/Bridal/Spring/2013/Style-9308
Which one do you like better?

They are both gorgeous but it is difficult if we can’t see it on you.

I prefer tulle over satin so I vote for #2 without seeing pics of you in it.

I prefer the tule gown because it has a softer look

We gotta see these ON you! They are both gorgeous dresses. We have very similar taste! 🙂

Iam personally not a fan of satin so I picked the tulle but they are both beautiful!

I also voted for the tulle dress but simply because I prefer tulle over satin, but that is without seeing you in the dress. I would maybe change my mind otherwise.

Unfortunately I don’t have photos of myself in the dresses, the shop didn’t allow me to take pictures. I normally prefer tulle over satin also, but this satin one was so elegant it makes this decision so much harder!!

What kind of wedding are you having? To me the first is more formal, while the second is more whimsical and romantic. Your last post makes me think you’re leaning more towards the satin 🙂 Which one would you regret not wearing more?

Yeah I would like to see both on you! I picked the satin one even though normally I am not a fan of satin because I really think it would look gorgeous in the ballroom. But the tulle one would as well – pick whichever you love cause they both are gorgeous dresses.

@cupcakemonster99: Voting is so difficult when we can’t see you in the dress. I only voted for dress 2 as I prefer the soft and romantic look of tulle.
I guess it come down to, do you want to look:
– classic and elegant = dress 1
– romantic and pretty = dress 2

If you think about the other elements of the wedding it might help decide which you would prefer.
Number 2 would suit a softer more romatic after
1 a more formal wedding

I picked the satin. Lace & Jim Hjelm. Can’t go wrong! 🙂

As others have said, it’s hard to say without seeing them on you. Did you feel that one was more flattering than the other?
In terms of my personal preference, I like the tulle. Just because it’s more whimsical and romantic, whereas the first gown is more formal and elegant. Also, I would keep in mind that the satin looks like it creases very easily – even in the stock photo you can see creases near the hem.

Wow these are both so beautiful I can’t decide! I guess I’d go with whichever you feel more comfortable in. The satin will wrinkle much more easily so keep that in mind if you have a long car ride or anything like that : )
