Find the most common spelling, and use it. Kids with unusual names often end up hating being weird later in life, when your goal was to make them feel unique and special. It doesn’t really end up that way from the adults I’ve met with unusual spellings.
Though – none of these three looks super weird, like Quristina.

keenan. love the name and congrats!

@applebeee: Congratulations. 😀
It would depend on which meaning/heritage I want the name connected with. Keenan/Keanan (Isrish/Gaelic) means “ancient,” and Kenan (Hebrew) means “possession” (and there are a few more cultures that have different meanings for this name).
I don’t care for the “kreative” spellings that are super-popular nowadays, but I could not care less about people’s ability to pronounce my child’s name. The meaning/significance is what matters most to me. My last name is four letters (pronounced phonetically), and people still mispronounce it in the most creative ways possible.

I’d stick with Kenan – I’ve never seen it written any other way, and I would automatically know the correct pronunciation. I definitely wouldn’t even consider the possibility that it was “Ken-an”, I guess because that’s not a name to me.

Well, typically if there’s a vowel then a consonant then a vowel it’s the longer sound for the first vowel so it would still be kee. I also grew up watching All That and the Kenan and Kel show so I knew right off the bat how it was supposed to be pronounced. It never even crossed my mind that someone would pronounce it Ken-an.

@allyfally: Kenan and Kel was the first thing I thought of too and thats how he spells it!
I would definitely know Kenan is prounounced with a KEE…. pronouncing it as KEN-an doesnt even sound right

@NewYearsEve: Right! I would think it would be spelled as Kennan. Kenan being pronounced as ken-an just doesnt make sense to me.

@applebeee: I voted for Keenan. I think if you spelled it Kenan people might pronounce it Ken-an (like Barbie and Ken).

I would spell it Kanye, cause that would be the best spelling of all time!

Keenan. I really like the name!

I went to school with a Keenan so that’s what I vote for.

I actually really like the Keanan spelling. I know how to pronounce it when I see Kenan.. but like others have said, probably only because I grew up with Kenan and Kel.

+15 on Kenan & Kel references. That’s the first thing I thought of.

I’ve known a few Keenans! They’ve all been spelled that way.
