I’m trying to decide between Williams Sonoma brasserie and Lenox Tin Can Alley collection for our everyday china. We’ve decided not to register for fine china. The Lenox is a bit more formal looking, and I’ve seen it in person and loved it. But now I’ve seen WS online and like that too, though it’s a bit more casual. The WS is heavier and is broiler-safe, but I’m not sure Unfortunately, WS’s collection is only online, which is making me a little worried… Does anyone have any experience with either of these? Or any opinions? Yesterday, I was leaning toward WS, today I’m leaning back toward Lenox… and my fiance says they both just look like white plates to him. Sigh.
Here is the Lenox:http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/lenox-dinnerware-tin-can-alley-collection?cm_sp=reg_pdp_related_info-_-dining-%26-entertaining-casual-dinnerware-_-lenox-dinnerware-tin-can-alley-collection&ID=146665
And the Williams Sonoma: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/brasserie-all-white-dinnerware-place-setting/?pkey=e%7Cbrasserie%7C27%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C24%7C%7C5&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_-

For some reason, the link for the Lenox wasn’t working for me, so I went hunting for it. If this is it:
Then I prefer that one! I like the subtle design on those over the WS. But that’s definitely personal preference. I’d go with your gut on this!

Yes, that’s the one! Thanks for voting and for posting the correct link 🙂

We have Williams Sonoma for every day (not sure if the exact ones since I got them a long time ago when I moved into my first apartment) but the ones I have are great and have lasted a long time. I don’t have any experience with Lenox but I love my WS and can attest to their quality.

My vote is for the Lenox. The WS set looks exactly like the set we registered for at Crate and Barrel 3 1/2 years ago (Aspen dinnerware), and it was a fraction of the price. I think that’s what is swaying me, knowing you can get the same thing for so much less elsewhere. I know it’s for a registry so maybe that doesn’t sway you, but even the plates and mugs looks the same. If you do like that style, just check out the Aspen. 3 1/2 years later it’s still going strong and we use it daily!

I’m biased because I’ll be registering for Tin Can Alley because I just LOVE it! Casual, yet a little nicer and can be used for every day or more formal dinners. I def voted for the Lenox!

I voted williams sonoma. I think of lenox as more fine china grade dishware not great for everyday use. Williams Sonoma I think of hearty dishes that hold up better to daily use.

Lenox looks more fragile for everyday use, but it’s the most beautiful.

I think the Williams Sonoma set is going to hold up much better for daily use than the Lenox bone china. I voted WS.

Thanks all for your input! They both seemed like great options, but we went for Lenox in the end 🙂
It just seemed a little bit more special, which I liked, since we’re not doing fancy china. And if we ever want simpler dishes, now I know what options are out there.
Glad to have the support of bees!
