I SO want plum colored shoes for my wedding – I had the idea that I would do a light colored toe polish as a nice contrast. The issue? I have a purple toenail from running and will need to wear a darker nailpolish to cover it up. We are getting married in July, so a super dark color will look funny, but does anyone have any recs on nail polish color with a plum/raspberry colored shoe? I feel like matching it might look silly. Or should I just bite the bullet and wear silver shoes?

Pink, pearl or champagne.

I absolutely agree, I think a baeutiful pearlescent shade would really set off the plum in your shoe. I would go with a shimmery pink or pearl color. You could even go as far as a very light lilac color which would be a tone of purple as well.

Folks- I can’t wear a pearlized shade as a have a dark purple toenail…that’s the issue…

In your situation I would probably go for a bright pink, like a punch or watermelon color.

Which toenail is it? Actually, even if it is your big toe, have you tried putting a white undercoat on, and then layering the light colour on top? Might look terrible, I don’t know. Perhaps worth a shot?
If that isn’t an option, I would tend to agree with a bright pink, or maybe a blue (too out there?) OR maybe take the colour of your shoes, and just go up a few ?shades (I’m not up on my colour terminology), so that it is complimentary, but hopefully dark enough to cover up the purple.
That is my only (slightly incoherent) advice. Good luck!

i know you said you don’t think dark would be appropriate – but i say go for black! even though its July, its on your toes, and I think it would be an awesome contrast with the shoes!
