Just bought a PPS robe for myself.  Guess what? I hate it.  And no returns only exchanges and store credit. Thats a bunch of bull.  The pattern was not what I expected and the material seems cheap and thin.  I wouldn’t go there.  So glad I only bought one and not six!!!

KatiePerry:  That’s ridiculous about not allowing returns.  I had been seriously considering ordering my bridesmaids all sets of shortie PJs (the ones with the kinda retro, men’s-style shirts with buttons up the front, cause it would allow for easy changing into dresses after hair and make up) from Plum Pretty Sugar in the BHLDN prints because they appear so romantic and pretty, but I’m not sure I want to take a risk with a company that doesn’t allow returns.  That’s just bad business policy.

beerandcupcakes:  Well I had originally ordered a shortie set too for that purpose but honestly it looked nothing like the photos (at least on my 5’2″ petite frame) and the fields to wanderfall print I loved looked like my grandmas couch lol. So I tried to return but when I emailed customer service they said exchanges or store credit only. So I begrudgingly bought the famous beckoning creatures robe instead. And I am not impressed. Ugh I wish I hadn’t bought anything from them. Now I have a shitty $65 robe I’ll never wear. Bad business policy for sure.

I bought from singing slowly on etsy. She had great communication and the robes were custom made to my girls and they were perfect! Just make sure you choose the r ight fabric for you- don’t just go by pattern 🙂

ilovegreenbeans:  I used silkandmore for mine and my girls robes and LOVE them! My girls still wear them, as do I. I wanted to shell out the $$$ for more expensive ones, but I learned that no one will even notice, or care (hurray for saving money!)

I loved mine and I still use it. I liked that PPS weren’t shiny, so it wasn’t like we were all hanging out in lingerie.

All my daughers used Plum Pretty Sugar and we just loved the fabric.  I definitely think they are worth the extra special splurge! They last for a very long time and are very pretty!

I would strongly recommend anyone not using Pretty Plum, my experience was really disappointing.

I ordered the shorties set for my three brides maids (PINK LOVE POPPY pattern). It was not my first pick for a pattern but the other pattens I liked didn’t have the sizes available that I needed. They arrived and the color was TERRIBLE, did not match the coloring on the site at all. You can see this throughout the site, the colors of the patters are totally inconsistent.

I couldn’t return the shorties sets (because they only do exchanges no returns, plus charge for shipping). So I bought the boyfriend shirts. They look super cute online, but for $56 they are not worth it at all. The fabric is a very very thin cotton, very cheap texture, kind of like a very thin sheet. The fit of the shirts are not correct based on the fitting chart. They are also DRY CLEAN OR HAND WASH ONLY, which is pretty ridiculous for something that could really only be used for sleeping in. They also arrive super wrinkly, which isn’t the end of the world, but you will need to factor that into your wedding day prep. As well, again, the patter didn’t match how it looks online, they must have some sort of filter overall their patter images.

The user experience on the site is also super annoying. Impossible to find anything. For example, you’ll see in the top navigation, there isn’t a “boyfriend shirt” option, unless you buy a set. So if you want to buy 1 shirt, it’s a challenge to find it.

The ONLY good thing is that their customer service is very responsive. That’s it.

Go to Etsty for Bridesmaids gifts!!!!!

For any bridal friends or moms-to-be out there looking at getting a robe or any other product directly from Plum Pretty Sugar- don’t. While the prints I ordered are beautiful, they have screwed up my order for the 4th time and they do not offer returns, just exchanges for store credit, then they screw that up too. Their sizing is off (too small- the comfy-cozy argument they give you is hogwash) then they blame you for it. They send you the wrong print then expect you to pay return shipping for their mistake. Their customer service is atrocious. Their corporate office is only available weekdays during PST and all you get is the runaround.  Even with their bride to be discount, you have to pay for shipping. Using store credit? You again pay for shipping unless they are graceful enough to waive it for you when you call. They are definitely not worth the cost and trouble I have been put through over the past month and a half (and now going on for two months probably).  LIVID does not even begin to describe how I feel right now.Thank goodness my wedding is not until May or else I would be even more of a Bridezilla to them. You have been warned.

OP, I’m forgoing the whole robes idea and buyng my girls comfy PJs to wear that morning. Tees/tanks and shorts mainly. I’ll probably wear a white romper. I also have several of these bridesmaid robes from friends wedings and I never wear them…I’m hoping that PJs will get more use from my girls!

Update: The owner of the company called me personally from her home in CA and she is sending out a return shipping label with the correct order today to make it right. She was really apologetic and told me to call her directly should I have any other troubles and that she would be speaking with their warehouse and customer service people as soon as she get in. Fingers crossed!

I’ve spent my weekend looking for two robes and narrowed it down to the sale section on Homebodii. I’m in New Zealand and it’s based in Australia so works for me. I’m hoping ordering from a retailer will allow for faster shipping rather than going with Etsy. The Etsy shops all seemed to need some lead time and I would prefer the convenience of retail if it means I’ll get it faster.
