@BENSBOO:  You need to embrace this awesome party being thrown in your honor 🙂 There is no shame in your drawers being slightly larger than some of your guests! If they really cared about what size you wore, they shouldn’t be there in the first place 🙂

Cacique has THE cutest stuff *and* a lot of it is on sale right now 🙂 I’d give you friend some ideas of what you want!

my one request for my friends shower/bachelorette party was noooooo lingerie for this exact reason. so i totally understand. i would not be comfortable telling anyone my size, even if they can see my size with their own eyes! if you really WANT lingerie than you might have to suck it up and just let it be known and be confident in that. your friends love you and won’t judge! but i get why this decision is so hard for you! either way, your bachie is gonna be great : )  good luck and let us know what you decide!

I am a size 18/20.  Friends and family know I am not a size 8.  I think I’m pretty, my fiance says I’m beautiful every day.  BUT, I don’t want other people buying me underthings…  I just know that there are only certain things that will flatter me and make me feel sexy, even if they technically fit.  For my showers I am hoping for anything but lingerie!  I will buy my own lingerie, thankyouverymuch.  Hope this helps…

@BENSBOO: I was coming to give advice but Badabing beat me to it (and I find it endearing and hilarious that she’s such a plus size ally, lol). First of all, there is nothing embarassing about your bra size. Some girls should be so lucky. Secondly, give your panty size in your clothing size (size 22 or what-have-you). One of my friends had a lingerie shower and I stopped in Ashely Stewart and got her the cutest stuff. She had listed her panty size in the invitation as “9 or XXXL.” First of all, I was embarassed for her to see all those x’s in print. After that, I didn’t know what size 9 meant because I don’t wear underwear out of the pack that is numbered in this fashion. I suspect that sexy lingerie is measured in M/L/XL OR clothing sizes. If your shower host is including your size on the invitation, I don’t see anything wrong with also suggesting a few stores.

Between Ashley Stewart and Cacique by Lane Bryant, you are in store for some really beautiful items! Also, take a look at Frederick’s of Hollywood. They have corsets in your size.

    Best wishes!

I would be severely uncomfortable with this. Also, I’d say of the honeymoon attire I tried on, only about 20% actually looked good enough for me to purchase, so you’d likely be getting a lot of useless things.

See if there’s a way to change the theme – either a regular bachelorette party, or somehow if she could ask people for sexy “things” – gift cards to lingerie stores, handcuffs, sex toys, etc.

@BENSBOO:  If it makes you uncomfortable, I see absolutely no reason why they couldn’t get you some gift cards to buy your own lingerie. I wouldn’t want my friends picking out that stuff either.

I would not want people picking out my lingerie.  My mom bought me a lace teddy and I gave it away. I can’t think of my mother while getting sexed up to DTD. I also received an outfit from a friend that was my size but didn’t look good on me. I felt bad but I had to give that away too as I could not return it.

I would skip the lingerie and suggest a different theme.

I did a Liquor and Lingerie shower for a friend and it went over really well.  She created an Amazon wish list of lingerie in the correct sizes, and the couple included a list of their favorite alcohols.  That way, you don’t have to come out and say it, and people can figure out your size if they want to buy you something else.  Most guests brought both liquor AND lingerie!
