ryverthorn: If you do end up getting the flutter sleeves, use double-sided wardrobe tape (I can’t remember exactly what it is called). I had heavily beaded cap sleeves, and with the beading, they would just slip off my shoulders. The woman from my wedding dress store gave me some pieces of that tape and they were miraculous. My sleeves stayed up through pictures, ceremony, and lots of sweaty dancing at our August in Oklahoma, partially outdoor wedding. Since it worked under those conditions, I think it would work for any bride anywhere!

LaurieW: I got it at Kleinfelds in Manhattan. It was love at first sight lol. The crystals matched my dress perfectly.

coachhw: Same here!! My consultant brought it out and I was unsure, but I absolutely adored the color so tried it on and feel smooth in love. Yours looks great with that belt! I tried several, but they all just visually cut me in half and looked ridiculous.
So excited — my seamstress just called and said my dress is done — going to pick it up now! *squeee*

Mellybobelly: Thank you! It’s so nice to hear I’m not crazy for loving it. A LOT of people (including my mom, Maid/Matron of Honor and FMIL) don’t like it.

ryverthorn: That’s my dress, too!!! I picked it because we’re going to be on a beach and I wanted something light and airy. I went without the train for the same reason, but love the beading around the bust and empire waist, and downt he back. Here’s the sample:

and mine when it came in (I’m being a bit of a derp, here):

lindsayE: Thanks I’ll keep that in mind. Honestly I think I would like to find a bolero with flutter sleeves so I’m not worried about them falling and slipping all day. I like how they look though and don’t overwhelm the dress

Isilme: Yay a dress twin!! I actually just bought the one I tried on. At the suggestion of the consultant I didn’t want to order one since the one I was trying on was perfect and she said if you order a dress .. even if its the same size it might be slightly different… and since I liked how that fit it was best to buy it. I still need to get it shortened and bustled but thats closer to the wedding. Are you wearing a veil?

ryverthorn: Yeah, I going’ to wear a veil. Since my hair is so short I think I need a veil to make it look “bridal”, and becaue we will be on a beach I want it to be pretty short. I will be making something clsoe to this (because I can’t justify spending $75-95 on something I can buy the pieces to make for under $20, not when I can sew and make lots of things).

This is my dress which I bought yesterday – I’m glad I can share with you ladies because it’s killing me that I can’t show my OH!
It’s an Allure dress and I’ve bought the sample I tried on. It’s done up as tight as it’ll go in the picture but there was still some room in it so it needs to be taken in a bit.
