Yeah, I’m doing this but I’m going to go looking for dresses that will look good now just in case.  Even if I lose weight, I’m sure that the dress will just look even better ๐Ÿ™‚  I won’t order it until 3 months out.

I did a bad thing. I purchased my gown back in November. I found my gown and right now it is too small, but it can be altered with a corset back, if I don’t lose enough weight by fitting time. I know it looks good on me now, and I know it will look even better on me then. I have currentl lost about 7 or 8 pounds; depending on what time of day I weigh myself.

Purchasing my gown is my big motivator. I have no selfcontrol either, but I am losing weight little by little by eating smaller portions and cutting my soda intake. I have also increased my activity a little bit. I did purchase the 30 day shred, but have not been consistent with it. I have just been too busy with other stuff. That should change soon though. When I do do the 30 day shred, I do notice a big difference. I do have to take short breaks during the exercises, but I do them all, and I can feel it when I do. I think just writing this is giving me more motivation to get back to it. I also know that a lot of bees have done the 30 days shred and it has worked well for them.

I’m so going through the same thing girls. I have a while before I have to buy my dress and I just keep telling myself, “tomorrow, I’ll start dieting. Maybe on Monday”. Then tomorrow, or monday, or hell even friday comes and still I havn’t started yet. As much as I’d like to think I could get down to a size 8 or something, I know that won’t happen. Honestly I’d be happy at a size 12 if the dress nipped my waist in. I want to wear a fit and flare or mermaid style gown, but right now I’m a size 18 and I’m not sure how good it would look on me.

I just finished this book called Women Food and god by Geneen Roth. Saw it on the Oprah show and thought, why not? It’s different, but it’s helping my self esteem. I’ve come to believe that it’s not about the food. It’s about why we’re eating. Self control can’t hold a candle to life experiences that have shaped us into the kind of eaters we are today. The book isn’t a quick fix though…and honestly I want to drop a few dress sizes in the next 5 months. I even have a gym mebership but do I use it?? Not yet…but I want to soon.

We’re not alone ladies!! How much weight do all of you want to be losing? Or is it about how you look in a particular size (that’s what it is for me)?

I tried to do it but couldnt, especially when the dress I really wanted went on sale. To be honest, I think you should do a little preliminary dress shopping now and then again after losing some weight, just to get your mind around what kind of dress you want to be wearing. Your style of dress is always going to change, regardless of weight and shape. I thought I needed to lose some more weight (I am a sz 18) but after trying on my dress, I loved how I looked in it. And I loved how it made me look. I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world…they had to make me take it off…

I have been saying since before I got my ring that it would be motivation to loose weight, 6 months later still the same size.  I have had a gym membership for well over a year and am very very lucky if I use it once a week.  I am totally the I’ll start tomorrow girl, but tomorrow never comes.

I am hoping when my wedding gets closer I will be more inspired, but for now I just try to be a little more conscious of what I eat, at least its a good start!

in the last 6 weeks i went from a size 22 to a 20. which i was very excited about, so yes, i am going to try my darnedest to get down another size or 2 before the last minute to order my dress. my fi’s oldest friend used to alter for a bridal shop so she can alter it for me in no time, if needed.

@THEFIANCEMEENAH good for you! Im trying to lose weight and my Fiance and I are having a friendly competition, unfortunately he is winning right now ๐Ÿ™

We have started the C25K training, so hopefully that will get my butt in shape. I ordered my dress online in a size 18 and I’m normally a size 14-16, I haven’t tried it on yet, I hope it fits (fingers crossed)

I went looking for a dress the size I am now and found one that is absolutely PERFECT!  And when I do lose weight (which I plan on losing 50+lbs before my July 2011 wedding)  I know it will look even better!  Just make sure it is a dress that can be taken in without losing too much detail if it comes to that!  But overall remember:  Your fiance fell in love with you the way you are NOW and he loves you as you are – by all means try your best to lose the weight if thats what makes you happy, but if you don’t meet your goal don’t beat yourself up about it I’m sure you will look stunning in whichever dress you choose!

P.S. My street size is 26 and my DaVinci gown is a 22 and fits PERFECTLY (won’t even need a hem!  Talk about a confidence booster! LOL

I have a year until the wedding, so I’m trying to make a conscious effort to shed some inches before the big day. When I first met my fiance, I was a size 9/10 and was very active (played b-ball in high school). Now after 8 years and lots of loving, I’m up to a 16/18. My goal is to get down to that by wedding day. Go big or go home, eh?

I’ve started doing Jillian Michaels workouts for the past two weeks and really like them. I’ve definitely noticed a change in my endurance. I’m still working on changing my diet, which I think will make an even bigger impact.

I have a healthy body image of myself now, but my motivation is looking at old photos of myself and wearing a bikini again. Living in Hawaii, it’s swimsuit season year round.

@hitchedinhawaii: Wowsers! That’s exactly how it went with me! I’m 5’8″, and in high school I weighed 145-150 pounds and usually a 10, sometimes a 12 if things ran small. Ever since I’ve started college, which was only 3 years ago, I have ballooned up to 220 and a size 18. Yikes. And the crazy thing is that I thought I was a total cow back in high school, and now I would LOVE to be 150 again. Heck, I’d even take an extra 10 or 15 added on!

But to answer the OP, yes, absolutely. I’ve tried on some wedding dresses mostly for fun so far, but I have decided that I’m not going to start seriously looking and purchase anything until I’m almost back down to my ideal weight. But at the same time, I’m being realistic and realizing that my weight loss attempts could fail, so I’m kind of checking out the styles that look good on me at the moment. Hopefully that won’t be the case though. Good luck!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been putting off even shopping for dresses for this exact reason. Which is pretty sad… that I’m not even excited to go wedding dress shopping. I totally went the wrong direction and I gained 15 pounds in the 6 months after I got engaged. Ugh. I’ve now lost about 10, with a goal to lose another 40 before the actual wedding day. But, I feel like I’ve totally run out of time and i HAVE to shop for my dress now. I think I’m just going to go for a style that looks good now but will look better thinner, and has a corset back to cut down on alteration costs.

@soontobemrskeen and thefiancemeenah please bear in mind that if you have to order your dresses, it may take a month or so to get them in, unless your planning on buying off the rack loosing weight is always a good idea, but keep in mind that you still have to order the dress and have it come in. which was my main concern at least…

I ladies. I did the same, I have 0 will-power, and wouldn’t even put on a dress before I lost weight. 3 weeks ago I started Rapid-K cleanse and lost 18lbs already. I’m not tired, hungry, or cranky. A friend of mind did it first and lost 24lbs in a month. We even look younger.

and no, I’m not selling the product, I’m just sharing the info ๐Ÿ™‚
