I love both of your dresses!  Ruffles are AWESOME!  I’m about to puchase this dress (maybe in striped organza).  I think most plus size girls assume ruffles won’t look good on them, but I’m thinking it’s quite flattering on curvy girls.

I was dreading the dress shopping experience. It was’t as bad as I thought so that was a relief. I ended up getting the Watters – Jacinda dress. It’s light, flowy, and super feminine. I hope I picked the right one. I tried on other “poofy” dresses and I just looked so weird in them. LOL

Here is mine! I didn’t feel limited in my choices at all. I was worried about it prior to shopping, but those thoughts were definintely not needed. I recommend going to a salon that isn’t David’s/AA…I found that they had higher quality dresses in a variety of sample sizes, and at DB/AA price points. I refused to try on anything below a sample 14 but I was still able to try on both my dream dress, and this one (which replaced my dream dress as soon as I saw it!)

Here’s mine! I had a great experience shopping at Davids. I found that the smaller shops didn’t have any selection – and what they did have was ugly! I do wish there were more dresses made specifically for girls with curves to give them structure.

I love all of your dresses! I went to David’s on a whim and found my dress. It’s completely different then what I thought I wanted, but I love it. I think it’s really flattering. I was actually surprised at how many options David’s had…it was a bit overwhelming. And here’s my dress! (Sorry if the pic is huge)

I’m not so plus size anymore physically since I slimmed down after being engaged but my dress was a size 14 don’t know if that counts.

Here is my Oleg Cassini for DB  I’m a size 20 and never thought I would be able to rock a Trumpet dress.  SO happy more dresses with sleeves are coming out!

I just want to say that all of you plus sized ladies look beautiful in your dresses. I am a street size 14 but I have never had the chance to try on wedding dresses as we eloped in Vegas already. I always fantasize what they will look like on me since I am not a small girl.

My dress!! I wrote a long post about my dress shopping experince but you are totally right you have to be in the mindset to feel beautiful. I had a full range of shopping experinces from no dresses fitting to needing to be clipped in to everyone else crying.

That is the best advice for any bride while looking for her dress, know you are beautiful and sometimes samples don’t fit are too big or too smal but there is a dress that will make you feel your most beautiful on your wedding day.
