i would like to start a thread that lists where plus size brides have gone shopping. If you know of a plus size bridal store post it below and where it’s located. Was the store only plus size or all sizes? Let’s help other plus brides find somewhere they can go shopping.

For any Perth Australia Bees, a friend of mine has a plus size wedding boutique: Kat’s Kurvy Bridal. She is absolutely wonderful and will have you in stitches throughout your appointment 🙂
A bit of back story on that shop: she went shopping with a girlfriend for her girlfriend’s wedding dress. Apparently the snippy, prissy store clerks were not being accommodating for the curvier lass, despite them ringing up earlier and asking for their plus size range. Apparently they thought AU16 (US12) was “plus size” and were so judgy about anyone bigger! Kat was so disgusted by it she thought – RIGHT, this ain’t cricket, might as well open up my own bloody shop!
And she’s killing it! Cornered the niche market, and is doing SO well.
So yeah, Perth Bees, go see Kat. She’s a champ. You won’t regret it.
**Edit: for reference, she can also cater to anyone who’s not plus size, it’s just most of the sample dresses cater to the curvier girls

I bought my dress at Luxe Bridal in the Twin Cities area. Their samples are sizes 12-32. I didn’t try on one dress that didn’t fit perfectly, or didn’t need to be pinched. It was a fun experience, and they had enough room for my mom, 4 sisters, my best friend, and 3 nieces.

New York Bride (I believe they have multiple stores in NY, NC, and SC) has sample sizes 2-32 in stock.

I went to the Wedding Shoppe in the Twin Citites. They have all sizes. I did feel a little limited, but that was because there was a trunk sale for Maggie Sottero and they only had small sample sizes, and I couldnt try any of them. I ended up with a gorgeous gown that I love!

Alexandra’s Boutique in Fall River, MA. They are not exclusively plus size, but they have an enormous stock of plus size samples.

I live in Seattle and was hoping there would be a plus sized boutique (or at least a place that isn’t David’s Bridal with a sizable collection) somewhere nearby. It seems that that’s not the case. If I’m missing anything I would love to hear about it!

I am in Montana and found plus sized dresses in every major city. I ended up purchasing my Mori-Lee dress from Rococo Bridal in Missoula. Helena had the smallest selection of plus-sized dresses.

Got my dress at The Curvy Bride in Freehold/Manalapan NJ. Michelle, the owner, is awesome and I had a great experience there. Samples are all plus size. It was amazingly to have such a selection to choose from and try on just about anything I liked. I ended up with an Allure, but tried on Maggie Sottero and Essence of Australia as well.

I got my dress at Ventura’s in Houston, TX- they carry all sizes but had a pretty extensive selection of plus-sized sample gowns there. I ended up getting a Mori Lee but tried on a lot of Maggie Sottero there too.

I went to Della Curva in Tarzana, CA (just a bit north of downtown LA). It exclusively carries plus sizes so you can try on everything! It carries dresses from Allure, Stella, Essense, Sophia Tolli and a few others. I would recommend a weekday appt. as the weekends get full and you’ll enjoy the experience more with fewer people. I actually think they limit the studio to a max of 2 appointments per block.

I found my dress at David’s Bridal in Alberta, Canada(I’m a size 20).

I went there they had a lot of pretty dresses but I couldn’t find what I wanted and I did feel like everything relied on the corset built in dress. I didn’t like how I looked in it felt like I was spilling over in the back

I live in LA I went to two stores the first one was Della Curva in Tarzana Ca they are a plus size only store. I didn’t like that they couldn’t do very much customization like add length to the train or lace. Other then add sleeves. A lot of the dresses relied on the corset built in with it showing in the back and I personally did not like. If you are in the area I do recommend checking this place out. The second place I went was Strut Bridal in Long Beach Ca. The shop looked small but they had tons of beautiful dresses they had semesters they could send you to so they were able to do a lot of customization like add sparkle tulle or beading or buttons whatever. They had so many beautiful dresses. They also put you in a bustier the strapless bra that comes down to your waist and I really felt like that maid a huge difference in how I looked in a dress. They had backless dresses ball gowns mermaid gowns every style you could imagine. They carried dresses for size 12 and up and are a plus size store. They were really amazing about showing you how you could change a look by adding sleeves or different lining adding a petticoat. This place is great! I really liked they had a selection of so many different styles and I didn’t feel boxed in to one look being a size 18. They have another location in Az. The only other all plus size store I could find was sparkle bridal in Sacramento I did not go here personally but would like to put it out there to help out other brides. Hope this thread keeps going I had a hard time trying to find places. I didn’t want to go somewhere with a limited selection and be hanging out of a dress. I also didn’t want to see beautiful dresses I couldn’t get in my size so I think it was helpful going somewhere that specializes in plus size dresses
