How plus size is plus size?  I know that quite a few bridal companies have up to 30 in dress size (though this doesn’t necessarily correlate with street sizes unfortunately).

David’s Bridal has large sizes in the colors you’re seeing out.  Another good option is Dessy, only because they have SOOOOO many dresses and colors (and I think a good number go up to size 30).

Another option is checking out Bill Levkoff.  I was in a wedding that had all of the bridesmaid wearing the same dress.  I’m a street size 16/18, another one of the bridesmaid is 20/22ish I think, (plus bridesmaids who were 0, 8, and like, 10?) and we all looked nice in the dress.  πŸ™‚  And I’m pretty sure they have the three colors you’re seeking out.

For dresses 30+, I unfortunately don’t know.  πŸ™  One of my bridesmaids is I think 30/32 in street size, and she decided to make her own dress.  But, I’m sure there are places that you can find 30+ πŸ™‚

My sister ordered a size 20 in Bari Jay.  My other girls are tiny and ordered from a 4-8 so he definately has a wide range of sizes.

I noticed judithsr suggested Bill Levkoff for the dresses. I was in my friend’s wedding last year and she chose BL for our bridesmaid dresses. I’m a street size 22/24 and I couldn’t fit into any of those dresses. Based on the measurements that were taken at the bridal shop, the consultant said that I’m a few inches bigger than their largest size dress. It was kind of a humiliating experience to have to go back and tell my friend that I would need to order my dress from another designer because I was too fat. Thankfully the dresses were black so it wasn’t an issue but should they have been a specific color, it could have really caused a problem. I suggest looking into that if you do decide to go with BL.

My suggestion would be Alfred Angelo. Their dresses go up to a 28 and they are true to size. As far as affordability, most are less than $175 but there are lots that come in below $150. We’re going with them for our bridesmaid dresses.

Definately David’s Bridal 2 out 3 of my bridesmaids are plus size and that is where we got theirs. Their dress is in Navy Blue.

My situation is only one bridesmaid is a plus size and I am having difficulty finding a dress thats not so formal. I love the j crew dresses and have looked on Macy’s, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor and many more. Does anyone have any ideas for backyard/country/urban wedding’s? The dresses have tended to be pricey or to fancy.

@rica827: My Maid/Matron of Honor wore a Purely Alfred Angelo dress (#7103 in Sunset Orange). It was pretty and looked good in the photos, but the quality was disappointing for $240!

@NotYourTypicalBride:Holy crap $240!?  I didn’t expect that at all.  My girls are wearing one from their other line and it was $145.

My girls are wearing Alfred Angelo style 7006 in eggplant and lilac. It’s really flattering around the tummy area.

This is Dessy 6553.  My girls are wearing this dress in American Beauty.  It’s really flattering and really price friendly.  It looks great on all sizes as well, I am considering ordering it for myself and I am a 20/22 πŸ™‚  I think they paid around $200.
