These all look like fairly high quality dresses made by real designers – I see the DHGate watermark – don’t buy from there! The dresses that you like are probably $800-$2000. I would recommend that you visit a store that has plenty of dresses in your size (call ahead because sadly some smaller stores don’t stock many 16+). You may find a great dress on sample sale!

I’m not plus size but I ordered tailored from JJs House, and they do plus sizes. Very high quality for the price.

I got my dress from David’s bridal. I know that so many people hate David’s bridal and want something more couture or better quality, but if you’re on a tighter budget I’d at least recommend taking a look there. I didn’t want to order an inexpensive dress online because I was worried how it would fit. Just because it looks great on the “plus size” model who wears a size 10, doesn’t mean it’ll look great on me, an 18. I’m also tall, 5’11” and pretty evenly proportioned as far as being plus sized goes, but I still was surprised how the dress styles fit so differently than what I imagined. When I was actually trying things on I didn’t like everything I thought I would and also was surprised by liking some things I figured I’d hate. So I really appreciated having the ability to try them on. As for smaller boutiques, you just don’t find many with a small price tag. I totally want to feel gorgeous on my wedding day, but we have 2 kids and are in our mid 30’s, fiancé is back in college full time and we’re paying for the wedding ourselves. So I just could not justify spending a lot on one item. I found my dress for $750 and caught it on sale for $399. It might not be as great of a quality piece as the local boutique but it fit my budget and looks beautiful on…makes me feel like a million bucks. Not trying to sway you! Just sharing my experience. I hope you find something you love! 🙂

Before you go get anything made I would go dress shopping just to try on these styles and make sure you know exactly what you want. I’m a size 18 and I didn’t know what I wanted I found the same few pictures of plus size wedding dresses. I think we try to find the dream dress that we think we want before we ever go shopping and you just can’t do that. Dresses are so much prettier in person. I wanted a dress with long sleeves but I felt so over heated in them I completely hated it. Dress styles I never thought would look good did and stuff I thought I would like I hated. I recommend calling around and finding a store that specializes in plus size dresses or at least carry’s some. But you really need to at least tried on things and know 100% what you like want before you go down the route of getting one made.

Call ahead and ask if they have a plus size selection. I got mine from a local shop & love it. Most shops have clearance racks as well by amazing designers

Hey there! I’m getting my dress from a local boutique and her prices are outrageously good for the quality, so I lucked out. I have heard great things about Cocomelody for inexpensive, beautiful dresses. I second everyone saying you should try different shapes on your frame; you can use that knowledge to buy online later 🙂
