I’m having the worst time settling on a dress. They are both the same price, but both are so very different. We are getting married on October 20, 2018, in a garden type setting in Altoona, PA. The reception will be more of a party/club type scene. Our colors are champagne, blush, mauve, and maybe merlot. Here’s the deal:
– Cheaper alterations.
– Seemed to flatter my figure better in person.
– Makes me feel bridal.
– There is a sash for this one that I think adds a little bit of something fun to it, but no pictures with it on.
– Makes me feel more feminine.
– There is a chance they can’t order this in my size on time and I’d have to buy the one in the pictures that is too big incurring more alteration costs.
– Doesn’t feel as bridal, but I have fun playing with the skirt.
Please excuse my faces and hands, since I’m awkward and don’t know what to do with them when my mom says, “Put your arms down and smile” for every picture.
Thank you everyone!

I think the champagne is far more flattering (and even without pictures, I don’t think it needs the belt).

I voted for champagne (I’m also partial to champagne).
You also look happier in that dress and your reasoning for picking that one over the blush makes sense.

Both dresses are gorgeous. It is a tough choice between the train on the champagne dress and the skirt on the blush dress. Which are you more comfortable in? Are dress price + alterations similar between the two? Is feeling bridal important to you?
If it were me, I would opt for fun, twirly skirt. Although, if it’s in the budget, why not find a company that makes tulle skirts and just get yourself one for fun and date nights? – especially if feeling bridal is important to you.

The champagne one is beautiful one you!
I’m not a fan of the blush one at all.

The blush dress is pretty but it doesn’t do your figure any favors and kind of hides your waistline, whereas the champagne one accentuates it and really flatters your shape. I also feel like the strapless and neckline on the champagne one looks better on you, and the blush one makes you look a little…boxy?
Usually with these polls I really don’t have much preference, but for this one it’s a clear winner for me! 🙂

The champagne one I’d say. Good Luck with it all!

I love both dresses and think you look BEAUTIFUL in both. I selected the champagne because of the reasonings you listed. Cheaper alterations and more bridal. You can wear a fun skirt any time you like and you only get to be a bride once!

annabananabee : Thank you so much =)
mkbee : Thank you so much! There is something special about a Champagne dress. I stalked your page and your dress is so gorgeous! It reminds me of my very favorite dress, but they couldn’t get it in time, whomp whomp! That’s what we get for deciding to plan our wedding last minute. haha.
statuesque1 : Thank you for such a well thought out reply! Feeling bridal to me isn’t particularly important. I just want to feel pretty! And I think I’m afraid of missing out on the wow moment when I come down the aisle with a more sleek dress. Overall, because the blushdress is two sizes too big on me, the alterations will bring the blush dress to almost double the price of the champagne dress! I like the thought of investing in a fun tulle skirt for the reception or just for date night. I think that’s a great idea. Thank you!
hikingbride : Thank you so much! I appreciate your honesty =)
somedaymrsj : Thank you for being honest! I do agree with it making me look boxy. I have pretty broad shoulders, so that’s always something I have to be weary of when buying clothes. Thanks again!
healthcoachrivers : Thank you so much!
beezyzrbn : I think we might be twins lmao. That’s what I kept saying when I tried them on… I can wear a fun dress anywhere, but I can’t wear a bridal dress anywhere, at least not without people thinking I’m a nut job. Thank you for replying!!

The good news is I think both dresses are stunning on you! Definitely love the first one on you more though. It really flatters your figure. Let us know which one you choose!

They’re both so pretty, but I love the champagne dress. It’s a little more “traditional,” I know, but I think the train is just beautiful and I think the color looks amazeballs with your skin and your pretty dark hair.

getoutofdodge : i loved the first pic of the champagne, where you have the skirt gathered in your hands – it makes the dress look more fitted through the thighs which emphasizes your curves and give you a lovely silhouette. however, i hated it when you dropped the skirt. it’s just blegh on you. all that is to say that i think you should only consider the champagne dress if you’d alter it to be tighter through the hips and thighs like it looks in the first pic. also, forget the belt idea. it will just cut the dress in half and make you look shorter (and thus wider) as a result. either you have the waist-to-hip ratio to pull off a fitted silhouette, or you don’t. belts don’t magically create waists (and you don’t need one, as I see your waist!)
the ballgown is also lovely, and looks like a lot of fun. i dont think you can go wrong with either! the ballgown is likely more comfortable (albeit heavier) to move around in all day. are you going to be self-concious in a fitted silhouette? do you want a big puffy skirt to twirl in? or do you want something that shows off your curves?

Love how the champange dress looks on you! I would add a belt or sash but other than that, I think it’s perfection!!
